QUOTE(dudester @ Mar 19 2019, 04:47 AM) I dont like high limit. Will ask them to temporary reduce when i travel, to about 30k. This to prevent the any fraud when overseas. Got a solution for you. Also i use a low limit 20k cc for internet transactions only. Get a Bigpay Prepaid Debit card Mastercard. You can only lost what you put into it and for overseas spending, you got foreign currency exchange rates about 2% lower than any other credit cards that I know of. |

QUOTE(PHI_1.618 @ Mar 19 2019, 04:49 AM) Never thought of this. But this is a good advice. I will definitely ask the bank to temporary reduce my card limit next time when travel. and only bring 1 card. You shouldn't just bring 1 card. System may be down. Bank may be down. Who knows?I always bring a Visa and a Mastercard and from different banks. |

You definitely need more then 1 card when travelling. I usually bring 3~4. Including my ATM card. |

QUOTE(status quo @ Apr 23 2019, 02:14 AM) i just succesfully increased my limit prrmanently from 5000 to 7500. This answered my question. Thanks!reason is because i had to buy a lot of furniture for my new home. EPP 0% installment is a convenience, but it will reduce your credit limit. in US, having higher credit limit is good because their rating system got something called "credit utilization". the lower your percentage is better. but in malaysia our ctos and ccris do not care for that. they only look at payment habit and outstanding balance. just my 2 cents. |

Bank valuates their risk of credit card on you based on :-
Repayments of your credit card. Utilization of your credit card. The higher the limit of course the better. This proves that you are able to manage your credit card well if utilization of your credit card is not high. EG Less than 50% with no late payments. |

QUOTE(persona93 @ Mar 20 2019, 09:29 AM) tumpang tanya I basically use credit card as cash. Meals, grocery, petrol, shopping, insurance all tied to Amex from maybank 2 cards. 5% cashback for all transaction on weekend, RM50 cap, that means u need to spend RM1k on that card to reach RM50 cap. Bad habit is you will start thinking everything is discounted 5% (which is not entirely false!)for me la, i never use CC and never will, do you think i need to apply one just for future wanna apply loan or something truth be told, i just wanna use to buy new phone only atm I think its quite easy to hit RM50, some months u buy new gadget, some months you buy flight tickets, just do it in the weekends. In one year, u get about RM600 in cashback not including sometimes Maybank do some cashback promo for Amex, like spend minimum RM1k overseas for RM150 cashback. RM25 credit card tax easily settled, no bank fees - free for life. Not to mention the TREAT points you get to accumulate and exchange for 60" TV later Besides, I hate having to withdraw cash from ATM, sometimes need to rugi RM1, why not go cashless and at the minimum gain points, and cashback. |
