Yeah it's the 17" model.

I got it from the AU store. With a student discount. Without tax I think it cost me 3200 AUD.

Comes with 1tb HDD and a Samsung 512gb SSD, Windows 10 pro. So not too bad lah all in all. Can't find the same spec anywhere else for the price.

I'm only hoping that the cooling system is good enough to give some overclocking headroom.

ah i see.

are you based in AU right now?

or you'll be bringing it back to MY via friend/relative, etc..

Based in AU but I go back for holidays often.

So might as well claim tax.

Hi!
I'm planning to buy Lenovo y530 from Lenovo website & it stated that my laptop will be shipped within 4 weeks.
From your experiences, how many days actually you received you laptop?
tqvm
*
Yes, I cancel mine due to very much delay.
Order at 18Feb, expecting ship out by end of April. The lead time will change without inform.
For Y530, better buy in store i think? Friend of mine bought in store last week, price not much different from website.

Yes buy online, I bought 8GB 2666 from this shop. Very fast delivery, responsive chat:
https://shopee.com.my/ADATA-SODIMM-DDR4-Ram...4899.1829201508

other options:
https://shopee.com.my/ADATA-8GB-2666MHz-DDR...1469.1380911472
https://shopee.com.my/Patriot-8GB-DDR4-2666...4661.1956156966
https://shopee.com.my/AData-DDR4-SODIMM-266...4661.1717916263
(not really recommend EITstore even thought their prices are cheaper, so I just leave them out)

edit: under 180

thanks for recommendations!!

just to check with you,
this one is alright right?
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/kingston...ugBsTR&search=1

i prefer to get Kingston brand.. and also the price almost similar with the ones you gave..

oh and also, is your stock 8gb ram from samsung too? i notice they are CL19 which is higher than other rams i seen when i was browsing lazada/shoppee.

then got other rams like kingston hyperx impact/fury, those are 2666mhz as well and cl15 or something like that. 8gb is only like 20 ringgit more than the value ram.
is it better to get those instead? or no difference? im not good about ram stuffs..

That one is OK

Actually brand don't matter much...in fact most memory brands don't make their own RAM...Adata is good enough...my advice is just get the cheapest for laptop RAM

Yes the stock one is Samsung, standard spec - 2666MHz CL19

Better match the same spec for better compatibility

It really depends on your plans, but buying higher speed memory is good in the case you want to undervolt or unclock the processor and memory subsystems.

Usually such memory is extremely well binned, meaning they while they have great overclock potential, you can get away with undervolting them while still retaining reliability. But I'd have to say, you'd probably only shave power consumption by 4 to 5 watts max on 16gb x2 modules, which isn't much.

ah just a wireless keyboard.
https://www.logitech.com/en-my/product/wire...rd-k270?crid=27

needed a keyboard to game with, especially for dota2.
the laptop keyboard is great for typing.

but for dota2 its terrible because i use a lot of F1 to F10 keys, and 1-6 number and also the numpad.
and the spacing isnt quite right compared to a keyboard so i always mispressed wrong keys..

not sure about other games, have yet to test.

I use a Alcatroz usb keyboard for gaming too but the keyboard keycap inscription fading off. Damm pissoff especially when I need to type complicated passwords.
