You don't need root for the app to work, only need to allow location.

Thanks for the tip about enabling location. I've checked and I'm connected to Band 5.

Any complaints on unifi bebas? I heard the unlimited data speed is capped at 10Mbps

How is the line signal? I'm looking to mnp but had bad experince with TM before.

What do you guys think their mobile service in your opinion? pros and cons?

Pros
1)Cheap and no need top up every month to stays active.
2) the quota u bought never expired ( excep tbose hr, weekly or monthly pass)
Cons
1) coverage is not as good as other telco
2) will roam to celcom network if no 4g network.

Based on my admittedly limited experience of using Unifi mobile in my area so far, I won't consider using it as my main line. Only as a second sim or in a 2nd phone for hotspot use. It's ideal in a stationary environment provided it has good LTE signal there.

That being said, just noticed that 4G+ doesn't appear on my phone when I use my Unifi mobile sim, just 4G. But, when I use my Yoodo sim in the same location, it shows '4G+'. Am I correct in assuming that Unifi mobile does not have carrier aggregation/4G+?

If you check my previous screenshot on which band phone is connected to, you'll see 4G+ on unifi.

Unifi have 4G+ but limited area, yoodo has wider coverage for 4G+

I see. Ok, thanks for the info. So I guess even though Unifi mobile is riding on Celcom infra, the network isn't totally the same because at any one location, Celcom might have 4G+ but Unifi mobile may not. I assumed both would have the same coverage area in terms of 4G+. I guess not.
