Not at all man, really , I am just a small fry, StashAway is one of my smallest investment accounts I think it's random invitation ! They are much bigger fish in the sea !

QUOTE(yeowhock @ Jun 15 2019, 10:40 AM) Did they use the newly deposit money to buy? I have more concern in the amount they used to buy, few times I saw the buy amount were quite big, >50% of portfolio, wonder how it works, I put lowest risk tho They buy based on your risk appetite , what do you mean by their buy amount is big ?

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Jun 23 2019, 09:02 AM) I just wish some giant come and takeover Pub Mutual market share. No need vanguard 1st. Betterment first then see see vanguard kasi chan or not. For me mutual fund are way too saturated in Malaysia. Simply pick 10 funds also can see having similar investment region. Even with FSM still can’t dent public mutual market share bro, even the big difference in sales charge doesn't help Edit, spelling noob This post has been edited by Krv23490: Jun 23 2019, 05:40 PM

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Jun 28 2019, 11:49 PM) MT have slightly high fees. But their ETF listed are way different from SA. Good that more competitive in the market. Yea mann very interesting their etf choices ... Just from the basic look at it. I like SA ETFs pick for highest risk more compared to MT. Let's see how it goes

QUOTE(honsiong @ Jul 11 2019, 11:38 AM) Exposure to forex also means you hedge against Ringgit. It’s actually safer to not keep everything in MYR denominated assets. QUOTE(snoozet @ Jul 11 2019, 11:52 AM) The strength of MYR is because of weak of USD vs worldwide currency, Donald Trump policy. This is a first, if you are earning in RM , you shouldn't worry so much about forex risk. USD is definitely still one of the safest currencies

QUOTE(snoozet @ Jul 11 2019, 01:19 PM) When u consider the fx risk, ur decision will be affected. I keep deposit heavily on May US market dropping period, but the USD was shoot up to 4.19 and I know this is not sustainable (now 4.12), so it is very weird when u want to invest more but u also know the fx rate is adverse to you, you will feel foolish. Without this fx factor, maybe u will invest more and get higher return. So you are saying every investor with an emerging market currency should not invest in any US assets ?

QUOTE(snoozet @ Jul 11 2019, 01:39 PM) When u think US market will go up , so u will deposit more is it? But at the same time u also predict that USD will go down, so will ur decision to buy is still intact? For SA yes because its a long term investment platform for me. I will maintain my normal deposits , so i will buy when its up or down. If that is the case , you would have sold during previous ATH no ? I am not good with timing the market , so i will just put in whether USD is up or down. BTW, if BNM further reduce interest rate, MYR will go down as well. There is reason why all countries have their reserves in USD my friend.

QUOTE(snoozet @ Jul 11 2019, 01:56 PM) Well, frankly speaking, if one day Stashaway let you choose in USD or MYR-hedged two option, will you still insist that USD denomination is better due to currency diversification? Yes, because i am earning in MYR, so the amount of MYR will always be accumulating. USD is always a good currency bro, and i don't intend to swap around my currencies until extremely necessary. As Xing mentioned, market movement is always much bigger (and should be the bigger focus) . If the world tumbles into a recession or a downturn. USD will be the least affected as well

QUOTE(snoozet @ Jul 11 2019, 08:45 PM) I think most ppl still can't get my point. I prefer stock is stock, fx is fx, when u hv two things mix into a product, u will face problem. Now USD 4.11 and may go down further but stock is going up, what is your response to it? If u split this to two products, u will not have such problem, u can continue to buy stock and sell ur fx contract. See the difference? So how do I get diversification into ETFs listed in NYSE though ? My response is buy when is up and buy when is low, regarding Forex , and ride the stocks going up, it will outperform regardless of Forex fluctuations, so far my returns is 17.6 USD. 16.6 MYR, I buy regardless up or down.. if it can fluctuate up to 10%(unlikely), I would still be sitting happy . But if it does, I would still be happy as I can buy more USD with my stronger RM
