Yes, it said in the end, but when is the end? How many here will hold 10 20 yrs.

If they offer you trouble-free solution why dun take it and insist want to expose to fx?  I am puzzling.
*
Trouble free? In my opinion, whatever you are going on about is more complicated than what everyone here agrees.

I here plan to just leave my money in for more than 20 years. Retirement also more than 30 years to go. And what is your annual management fees for your hedged UT. Hehe

I did a search on this but seems that it has not been discussed before. Does stashaway explain why the do not use the Irish domeciled equivalent ETFs for the tax advantage on dividends?
*
I am not sure, but i think US listed ETFs are much more accessible for them. More accessible hence lower fees. And i think we will get back some withholding tax (with some few months delay)

Mine maintain risk index 36 and 6.5

Initial reaction from me is I rather the old one as got more allocations in different asset classes such as small cap and commodities.

What are your thoughts?

Guys, may I know why you choose Stashaway rather than investing into 100% S&P500? Also, isn't this quite high fees compared to out there?
*
Haven't paid a single cent to management due to referral , won't last forever but so far so good. Still much cheaper compared to FSM. I do DIY investing as well . SA makes life really easy

Nope. Not the same. If your dividend is large enough even with drop of 20-30% you will still receive your dividends. No need ftp sell. Best part is only some will be affected. Not all stocks.
Eg you received RM12000/year,  if market drop by 20-30% and assumed you received dividend of only RM10k (dividend drop),  you will still receive RM10k provided you don't sell. Dividend investing means money is coming in every month or every few months providided you don't sell anything.

If you go for capital gains,  drop in 20-30% means the amount available for you to already drop by 28-30%.

Hope is clear.
*
Very nicely stated.

When will you sell your dividend stocks ? Any timeline or age you plan to hold it until ?

Looking to start a dividend portfolio as well . Looking at HSBC atm

Don't really understand how the terms work though.

Like the difference between price and value.

Price is the price of the ETF , value is your units X price

I am at 22% risk. I notice nowadays, the dividend received is lesser than management fees. Before optimization, i see dividend is usually higher. But I am now at TWR 14.95% after 1 year. Just sharing.
*
Yeah, I rather the previous portfolio. I think they switched to slightly more defensive cause they were anticipating a downturn. The portfolio seems to be more defensive compared to the older one. I am on risk 36.

Hence we could have more returns because the market rebounded and went to new records.

This. Many dunnoe what SAMY is investing in then already dip their hand into it.

For all users,

Passive investing is all good especially for those that don't feel like researching too much but we still need to do some minimal due diligence on the platform we are investing in.

We need to at least know the ETF choices and study a little bit about what the ETF holds. Can also roughly keep track of the performance too if wanna ensure that the return shown in SA is similar to what reflected by the ETFs.

If we dunnoe anything then invest, later if market happened to goes sideway then many will ignorantly blame StashAway and call it a scam that make them lose money. Then we might ended up losing this great platform.

Exactly, when make money can complain, imagine if bear market

US market has been rallying for quite some time
I doubt there will be any negative return now.

PS. Not sure how did the fixed income perform (6.5%)
*
Not bad at all, my 6.5% portfolio MWR is 3.53% , TWR is 5.5% , created the portfolio in April 2019.

The 36% portfolio sitting pretty with 27.3% and 20% since Nov 18. Happy with it so far and only paid management fees for 2-3 months. Now free again for 6 months from Boost.

Question, does the return include dividends received?
