More confused lmao. I am trying to understand.
So if I put in 1k, the current NAV is 0.5196
1000 / 0.5196 = 1924 units
So how does the distribution works? I tried reading investopedia but it's not really helping cuz I am a dum dum
Distribution in unit trust works as taking money from left pocket and then putting back into right pocket; i.e value before and right after distribution should remain the same.
Let say, on 5/6/2020, you invested RM 1000 and has 1923.0769 units
On 5/6/2020, a distribution of RM 0.0014 per unit is declared. You get RM 2.6923 (RM 0.0014 per unit x 1923.0769 units)
Distribution will be usually re-invested at adjusted NAV which is 0.5186, the additional units you get is 5.1915 units (RM 2.6923 / 0.5186).
Total units in holdings = 1928.2684 (1923.0769 + 5.1915)
Value of the units at newly adjusted NAV = 1928.2684 x 0.5186 = RM 1000
Valuation on 9/6/2020 = 1928.2684 x 0.5189 = RM 1000.5784
