Only if got rm18k then can hoot. If not, Alex also suggest parking SA first. You need dca effect for disciplined investing.

But if u don't mind brokerage charge, then can DIY ya

I am confident my DIY approach will beat StashAway's result. So I run both - stashaway for fallback, some DIY investments to keep the journey fun.

Honsiong still at 6.5?

haha so no share to share? cause i'm all in REIT, real actual property, now starting stashAway for short term before moving $$$ into REITS.

Anyway why 18%?
Why 14% ya?

PS: I'm personally doing 20% for retirement plan. 36% for holiday plan. and it's a weekly deposit. haha it's to fund for my interest i would say.
*
Reits not bad hehe
As for SA, currently at 36%
The risk percentage just based on personal risk appetite

Hi, a question here for the sifus.

In case there's a huge fall in the stock market or recession really happened. Will you guys lump sum in your spare cash or still dca at a normal rate?

DCA. Don't forget StashAway has gold, bonds that likely will drop a bit once equities market get better.

I lump sum into other investments elsewhere - STI ETF anyone?
*
Currently on 36 and 6.5. The 36 now no more GLD. So can DCA more into the 36%.

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Aug 28 2019, 08:53 PM)
Very hard to tell... Whether is real fall or just falling knife also not sure.

But if major index drop being 30% can la... Now not yet.
*
Yup. Now just a more "exciting" roller coaster .

QUOTE(roarus @ Aug 28 2019, 08:58 PM)
Looks like a smooth and fast deposit to buy turnover this time around:

27 Aug ~2pm: Manual deposit via IBG
28 Aug 11am: Got notification deposit received
28 Aug 8:50pm: Saw conversion done, queued for buy

First time depositing on a Tue. Usually I deposit on Sun, get notification of deposit received on Mon but noticed several odd times where conversion and purchase is only triggered 1-2 days after. Delay due to processing backlog deposits since Fri night?
*
Same case with JomPay.

26 night depo
27 noon received
27 night conversion and buy order
28 complete

QUOTE(xcxa23 @ Aug 28 2019, 09:10 PM)
dca with higher amount and/or much frequently

imo, recession/crash will take long time to recover so no point lump sum, unless you got unlimited lump sum
*
Print money hehe

how much is the fee again if we make partial withdrawal?

say I got RM 10k in the balance now. If I withdraw RM 4k, how much is the fee?
*
U will be charged a total of RM4 (RM4000 * 0.1%) for the currency exchange fee.
So u will receive RM3996 and balance will be RM6000 if there's no movement in the currency/market.

Thanks!

and after the 6 months management fee-free period, how much do we pay in management fee? How is it calculated?
*
If let say you have 10k myr, the management fee will be 0.8% p.a

So the fee will be (10000 * 0.008) / 12 for the month will be RM 6.67?

But I not sure whether it will calculate based on your everyday balance or not. Need sifus here to clarify it. In the mean time, I will ask the cs to get a more accurate answer biggrin.gif

Complete the quiz in sgx and score 90% and above. Then send the certificate to SA cs whatsapp

You can take the test here

Reply from StashAway:

Our management fee ranges from 0.2%-0.8% per annum. It is charged monthly, on a pro rata basis, on the average Assets under Management (AUM) of that month. Kindly note that the average AUM also includes any returns made on the portfolio. This fee includes the cost of executing the ETF transactions, rebalancing your portfolio and changing your asset mix when economic conditions change (re-optimization). There is no additional brokerage/ transaction fee or any other fee.

Please note that ETFs charge, on average, an expense ratio of 0.15%-0.25%. This is charged over the course of the year in the form of adjustments to the Net Asset Value. This is not an actual cash flow borne by you. It is offset by the EFT funds before distributing the returns back to you. This expense ratio is incurred regardless of what platform you use to purchase ETFs.

There is also a currency conversion fee of 0.1% on the spot rate charged by our broker. This fee is much lower than what you will get with most banks on the street. Also, just to share, 0.1% is 0.001. If you watch the way currencies move in any given day, it will probably move by more than that in any given day.

Besides those, there are no other charges charged to you. Hope this clarifies smile.gif

If you are investing for a goal with a specific amount in mind. Then when SA hit your target, you can just withdraw and use it assuming your goal when setting up SA is to purchase something like a house or a car.

But if it's for long long term (retirement for eg) and you are concerning about the risk of losing your capital or maybe the return from your investment then its better to lower down the risk. Also 6.5% is mostly bonds, reits and other fixed income etc as mentioned by CardNoob which will gives you dividend each month. Maybe that risk profile is more suitable for you?

I'm not sure; I didn't set up nor use direct debit.
That's why I have been searching in and out for the FPX option in both app and portal.
*
Haha. Yup
I'm searching for it too
But I remember the only time I use it is when I wanna link my back account to SA for direct debit.

Or maybe there's latest update for manual depo?

Also i unlock the max risk but i didn't go for it after looking at the portfolio which they will use for that risk level..... end up i m still playing safe for capital growth over long term basis...
*
Currency impact maybe? And ETF in your portfolio is performing well?
Check the usd yield too.

Btw the "earlier" in your statement is how long apart?

A valid question here.
When your portfolio is making a profit and you deposit more money into the portfolio in the same period, does that mean you're buying it at a "high point" (like stock market) and the returns of your new funds will be risked / minimized?
*
If based on your statement, means that we will stop depositing if the market goes up?
