Remember to think about the lost of purchasing power after 40 yrs.
The purchasing power of that 1 mil or 2 mil 40 yrs later will definitely be much lesser than the 1 or 2 mil NOW.

a house purchased at the right location and at the right price NOW will most probably appreciate in value or increases the purchasing power 40 yrs later.
*
this is very misleading...

there are a lot of pre-qualified conditions to be a successful property investment...

many simply buy and get stuck with property that gives negative cashflow for 30 years...

worst case are those that bought property and after that is abandoned...

What is very misleading?

Do you know what are the % of "worst case are those that bought property and after that is abandoned... against those successful one?

Money you put inside EPF as Self contributions will not generate cash flow till at least you are 50 yrs old,

I mentioned "a house purchased at the right location and at the right price NOW will most probably appreciate in value or increases the purchasing power 40 yrs later."

Did I said, "any property purchased NOW will definitely appreciate in value or increases the purchasing power 40 yrs later.?"

Guys, something weird here.

How come i can withdraw EVERYTHING from my EPF ya? I am only 55, whereas my hubby who is older than me cannot withdraw all.

The eligible amount to withdraw is EXACTLY the same as the TOTAL amount I have.

Upon reached 55 yrs old, all the money in account 1, 2 n 3 will be auto moved to a new auto created Account 55. And then Account Emas will also be auto created to receive for all new deposits after age 55.

All money in account 55 can be withdrawn anytime but monies in account Emas can only be withdrawn upon reached 60

If they implemented "retirement income savings, to be paid out periodically or monthly until depleted" for all new accounts holders, .....I wonder how many of those new accounts holders that have surplus cash will still have the strong desire to self contribute into it.
Naturally some would, but will the % be much lesser than now?
(Especially when the new accounts holders are more financial literacy, easy exposure to more efficient investment products that are of low cost to buy and has no "endless" locking period too).
Currently there are already people stated that they are looking for alternatives or had stopped doing self contributions upon learning of the increase of that previous excess 1mil withdrawal thresholds.

so meaning if one reaches 55, he can withdraw EVERYTHING and be done with EPF if he chooses to?

On this "so meaning if one reaches 55, he can withdraw EVERYTHING? Read this
About Age 55 Withdrawal
https://www.kwsp.gov.my/en/member/life-stag...5-60-withdrawal

And on this, "and be done with EPF if he chooses to?"
Unless you reached 55 on 1st Jan and withdraw on 1st Jan too, if you chooses to be done (forget) about EPF after getting the money, which mean you will also forget about having the dividend earned prior to your withdrawal date credited into your kwsp next year.
This "forgotten" balance in your kwsp will continue to earn interest and be with KWSP until your are 100 yrs old.
Once the member has reached the age of 100 years old and no withdrawal application has been made by the member’s or their next-of-kin, the savings shall be transferred in its entirety to the Unclaimed Money Management Division (BWTD), Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia , as stipulated under Section 51A of the EPF Act 1991.

The EPF matching contribution scheme (i-saraan) for voluntary contributions by gig workers and e-hailing workers has been increased to RM600 per year or RM6,000 for life.

The rate for informal workers (i-saraan) is maintained at RM500 per year and RM5,000 for life.

Want to ask sifus here, so if I open i-saraan account for my 14 year old kid, is it also broken into account 1, 2 and 3?
Meaning can withdraw flexibly account 3, and can withdraw account 2 for his higher education purposes later?
