QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Feb 15 2019, 08:50 AM) Jogging, hiking and cycling need to find a suitable place and requires equipments but swimming only need the "trunk". Besides, swimming pool is available in most condo. I also uses the excuse to be "clean" for sports (waxing) |

Maybe it's because swimming pools are not as common in Malaysia and most charge money, so not many willling to do it for sport?
Unless you live in a condo that has one. |

All you need is just a 30 mins HIIT swimming for weight loss. I think most who are swimming in Malaysia just do it during weekends family day - At least that is what I can see in my condo

QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Feb 20 2019, 11:41 AM) I do not condemn those who do breaststrokes after doing a full lap on an Olympic size pool just as a temporal rest before resuming into freestyle. But yeah, I have seen some who rests 45 mins after half lap on breast strokes. |

there's always swimming events one can join .then u will be more focus to train
there not many condos with olympic size pools. name me a few if you can. most condos infinity /25meters lengh. so i'd opt for an public olympic pool which cost only a few RMs |

I consider myself lucky as I have access to the 50m pool at KGNS. I swim 3 days a week but low mileage (between 5-6000m a week). Training is for triathlons so just freestyle. I think there's a fair number of people doing swimming as part of multisport events (triathlons and aquathlons) but it's a very small proportion of the population.
For people who have left school, Masters swimming is badly promoted and there are simply not enough local competitions for normal people to participate in. Just check out the ASUM website - hardly any pool events for average folk. This post has been edited by Kidicarus: Mar 8 2019, 10:31 AM |

i also swim 2 or 3 times weekly before at a club house. I swim at night usually after 7pm, But what scares me is that I tend to get sick often compared to before I started my routine. usually fever, flu or cough. Also I not sure why, but I feel yucky when I see somethings in the pool like any foreign stuff. Hence, next month Im trying to swim in another club house with another pool, hopefully I dont get sick often.
Also I think in Malaysia the weather is not nice to swim there are times i go change come out and its raining so I cant swim. But its a good solo sport and can really can keep you healthy if you mix swimming with gym. |
