Get "alpha poison" from Ravem already.. Now hunting for Alpha A100... with 18-70mmkit lens & 18-300mm/ 50mm f1.6... Budget below 3k... is this possible?

Which is more useful.... 50mm f1.6 or 18-300mm lens? If do lots of indoor shot definately the 50mm right? since f1.6... it doesnt require flash either? am i right?

Please share wat r d market price of this Camera now... and where can I get them?

yes you get free classes from the photography forums. Monthly there are workshops for you to attend as long as you are an Alpha user.

a kit set, with a 50mm f1.4 is not possible to get below 3K if you buy brand new. Second hand, perhaps you can.

a brand new kit set will range you from 2.5K onwards or slightly lower, that would be, the street price.

is there such thing as sony 50mm f1.6? i know KM has f1.7.

Guys, there's another new model for the alpha series, anyone can confirm this? It's not the a700 and the a100 for sure.

There is no 18-300mm.

There is a Sony 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DT and a NEW Sony 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DT. Or you could be confused with the Tamron 28-300mm.

There is also a Sony 75-300mm F4.5-5.6.

I know people who are selling the A100 second-hand, with 18-70mm kit lens. There are also people selling the 75-300mm.

Yes, a Sony/Minolta 50mm F1.4 or Minolta 50mm F1.7 is good for indoors BUT it is a bit zoomed, like 2x zoom on your digital camera. Yes, I bought the 50mm F1.4 so I didn't have to use flash.

The other model which will come out in the future is the proposed Sony A900, with possibly a full-frame sensor.

Call in to Key Photo Midvalley.. Selling A-100 for Rm2599, Twin lens for Rm 3199. Including 8gb card, Tripod, Beg etc... Good bargain?

I think the Twin lens really good bargain..but not sure the 75-300mm will be useful for me or not for the meantime.. I think i prefer 18-70mm + 50mm f 1.4. More suitable since often taking interior subjects.

But the 50mm lens by sony r so expensive.. 1.6k! Any other option? Minolta 50 mm f1.7? Still selling out ther?

Try FotoData MidValley. I got my S3 there. The lowest after surveying 4 shops there.

albnok, tell me whether i should go for KM 50mm f1.7 or Tamron 17-50mm f2.8?

or should i just get the KM first, and get the Tamron later?

if only Sony has f1.8 .... the f1.4 is just too expensive (including other brands, not Sony only)

really depends on what u need to shoot, and u can't compare prime lens with zoom lens..the IQ difference is like sky and earth.

and KM 50mm f1.7 only around RM400-450 while Tammy is 1.3k.

for me i definitely would not go for Tammy (i'm ex Tammy 17-50 user) as i'm landscape shooter but i can accept 50mm as my portrait lens too..kitlens is way enough for landscape..

i would rather save my money for a super wide angle

KM 50mm F1.7 still selling meh? KM= konica minolta? Thought they no longer produce anything.. all these lens must be second hand is it?

Got my Alpha back in July but have been extremely busy that I have not really played with it much yet. Got only the 18-70mm kit package but added the F56 flash.

Just try to make d thread active..lol.. I donno kuching much...cant help...Even in KL I oso not sure where to find second hand lens..

Anyway..i'll just get the A100 first... poisoned... but now just trouble should i get the 300mm lens oso...

If you have the budget, can consider on getting it lo. But it depends a lot on wat type of photos you'll be taking or want to take.

If there's not much outdoor shooting, I think the 18-70mm kit will be sufficient for now. Buy more lens later. Aiming to get a macro lens sometime next year....

Second hand KM 50mm 1.7f still on the market, i bought mine not too long ago.. RM400 with UV Filter.
No regret on low lights shots!
