Previously when I was using the stock c1200 router, my unifitv was running smoothly via homeplug. When this c1200 rosak I replaced it with Archer A6 and Unifitv is no longer smooth, at times need to reboot the STB. What should I look at for rectification? Ipv6 is disabled n Natboost is enabled.

What kind of Powerline are you using? I'm using TP-Link PA4010 and it's very solid (with very few interruptions).

Like I said, previously I was using c1200 n aztech hl117et homeplug av mini 500mbps n it ran smoothly. Now atter I changed my router to Archer A6 with everything else unchanged my unifitv stalls intermittently. Don't have another router to try since the c1200 is dead.
BTW unifitv is on LAN1 or LAN4 of the A6?
*
I assume you've followed everything like below (from A6's emulator):

Attached Image

Take note that A6 may use Port 1 instead of Port 4.

Is there a firmware update for your Aztech homeplug? My Powerline used to hang Unifi TV every day until firmware update.

After I enabled IGMP Snooping the UnifiTV stops working, disabled it and it works again and so far it runs smoothly.

It was ok last night. The same sh*t is happening this morning. Will try to connect directly using long LAN cable than using homeplug.
BTW why enabling IGMP Snooping caused no connection?
*
Normally it's enabled for multicasting IPTV eg Unifi TV, disabling it can cause traffic flooding.

In your case, not sure. It could be your homeplug not compatible with your new router. Pls update how it goes.

Could it be this problem, where the IGMP Version should be set to V3, instead of the default V2?
*
Yes, maybe V3 not V2. Forgot the version as Tomato firmware only needs IGMP Proxy setting, no need for IGMP version. I didn't even enable IGMP Proxy in my Tomato firmware. Probably my firmware already prevents network flooding on VLAN 500.

Means have to purchase device with 3x3 WiFi ac receiver only able to achieve 800mbps over WiFi like you?

What's the max WiFi speed like on 2x2 device? 400+?

Thanks^^
*
Mine around 500-600 mbps.

In reality, beside speedtest, hard to achieve 500 mbps download speed eg Windows update / Netflix download / Itunes download / Torrent. Most max out at 400 mbps.

Download/upload from local NAS is one example where you can benefit from faster Wifi.

Also still use dir 850l here.

Any recommendation for good router under RM300 currently?

Between Tenda AC18 and Tp-link A9, which one is better?
*
Spec wise, not much difference. Firmware / support wise, I think A9 better. If you're adventurous, Tenda AC18 can use Merlin/Tomato firmware.

If you plan to attach USB HDD, Tenda has much faster filesharing performance.

I use Tenda AC18 as my home's ground floor AP. Great coverage for a single floor.

Spec is the same but the WiFi performance of A9 is a lot better due to the better chipset used.

Spec don't always tell the whole story on WiFi. That's why we have some cheap AC2600 router that perform terribly.
*
Agree, TP-Link A9 on newer chipset should perform better. For my case, Tenda AC18 is sufficient for 500mbps Unifi & good coverage for a single floor. The main reason I choose Tenda over A9 is I share my USB HDD from that Tenda, so download/upload SMB speed is important for me, until a proper NAS coming. Different users with different needs biggrin.gif

That is correct, even Cat 6, not many cat 6 are fully functional at 10gbps, because things like termination, keystone, heads all need to be cat6 certified.

I don't know why so many people want to go to the latest Cat<number>, Maybe soon some marketing genius will market their cable as Cat8, knowing many people just just buy without proper research.
*
Quality CAT 5E cables are OK for up to 2.5 GBE, CAT 6A for 10 GBE ( max 30 meters). Anything higher is wasting money.

Nope. Everyone can afford a good router
It's just some people are not willing to pay for it because they think a good router should only worth RM100 whistling.gif
*
My router costs less than RM 200 and feature-rich. Together with 3 used routers as APs, smart switch, RJ45 faceplates & a Raspberry Pi, total cost is less than RM 1K and I'm happy with the results.

Of course my setup is not for everyone, including those who think a good router is only worth RM 100 whistling.gif

Just saying.

Done. I don't mind the contract extension as TIME will never come to my area & Unifi still better than Maxis Fibre here.

Hi, I am helping a relative to enquire about unifi package, is there any for OKU package and how to check for port availability? (is there a site or best to phone in to TM?) Previously they have unifi but they terminated due to financial constraints.
*
TM used to offer a 20 mbps + HyppTV OKU package for RM 140 years ago. Not sure nowadays.

Which Tomato firmware you used for DIR-868L?
I'm using the latest FreshTomato 2019.2 but couldn't get connect to the Internet. I've followed KLSeet Shibby Tomato guide for VLAN setup.
*
Recently my hands feel itchy and upgraded from Advance Tomato to Fresh Tomato version 2019.2, but then no Internet, stuck at "Connecting". Only then I remembered your post bye.gif

Before I move back to Advance Tomato, any success with later Beta firmware, or already moved to a new router? biggrin.gif
