QUOTE(cekpome @ Sep 13 2019, 02:37 PM) I got upgraded to 300Mbps without me clicking anything, but speed check said I'm definitely not even near to that speed. I was using Wifi to test and got 60Mbps as the result. So, I logged into my unifi account and check my turbo status. Apparently I need to agree to something. Will this help my speed? Have you restarted all your network devices (ONU/BTU and router)?

QUOTE(cekpome @ Sep 13 2019, 07:38 PM) This is like long time ago I tried with 5GHz wifi and managed to go to 80Mbps Ah, thanks. Read about it, next step: Gonna get my BTU upgraded and probably upgrade my router Need to restart BTU/ONU and router for the new speed to take effect after account is upgraded. 5GHz should be able to get 200+Mbps or 400+Mbps depending on device. BTU only needs to be upgraded if it doesn't have gigabit ports.

QUOTE(Singh93 @ Sep 15 2019, 11:14 AM) How abt Asus RT AC86u? How is the coverage like and does it have hypptv issues? Regarding the Unifi TV issues: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=93689937Can't comment on coverage since I'm using AC68U not AC86U.

QUOTE(anon5391 @ Sep 19 2019, 11:12 AM) My unifi800 can only get about 570-620Mbps during speedtest (TMspeedtest). Is this normal? My pc connected via prolink cat6 cable Depends on your PC capabilities too such as CPU speed and browser speed. Can test with Speedtest.net app from Windows 10 Store also since the app uses less CPU than test using browser. I can get 840Mbps on my PC with TM speedtest. QUOTE(alvinfks78 @ Sep 19 2019, 05:11 PM) is it possible to connect the UNIFI modem directly to PC? assuming only the PC using the unifi If you can setup VLAN tagging and PPPoE on your PC then probably possible but make sure the PC has firewall setup properly before doing that.

QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Sep 20 2019, 02:21 PM) I used to have Unifi 100mbps and then upgraded to 800mbps. During upgrade the modem has been replaced with a new Nokia modem but the router is still the same TP-link AC1200 with 2 antennas. I have done speedtest using laptop connected via ethernet cable and I get downlink ~800++Mbps which is very good and via WiFi 5GHz I managed to get ~400Mbps which is really good also. However, the actual usage experience is not the same. The performance of the network for watching video and even normal internet browsing is bad. I have my TV connected to the router via ethernet cable and when I watch Youtube video on my TV and watching youtube also on 2 other mobile devices at the same time, I start to get buffering on either of these devices. Also a lot of times I'm getting lost of internet connection for the WiFi on my mobile phone when the WiFi signal is Excellent. The problem is resolved only after I power reset the modem and router. Then the same issue occur again after 1 or 2 days. Called TM few times but they always just reset the port and asked to monitor again. Last time with the 100Mbps, the network performance was perfect, there was no need to reset the router or modem for months. I wonder what could be the problem. TP-link AC1200 is known to be a very lousy router with stability issues that TP-Link never bother to fix. Even the D-Link 850L from TM is lousy with non-working IPv6 firewall and lags when browsing. Me and my friends all changed to Asus routers and get good Unifi performance.

QUOTE(go626201 @ Sep 25 2019, 11:15 AM) Add 1: IPv4 and IPv6 to same server may having very high difference latency To OVH Singapore IPv4 only about 10ms IPv6 will up to 70+ or 200+ms with difference time and routing. For EdgecastCDN (used by Twitter) it's the other way though. IPv6 latency is half of that of IPv4 and at one time there was packet loss on IPv4.

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Oct 1 2019, 03:35 PM) This new promo feels kinda fishy. Seems like it is out there mainly to attract those that got turbo-ed. Maybe something really interesting coming next year or another big player coming in to fight the fibre pie. Yup so I'm not going to get my contract renewed. They are willing to give up so much revenue just to renew customers' contracts does feel fishy.

QUOTE(smileguy @ Oct 1 2019, 04:40 PM) Agreed,so guys pls dont fall for it esp.those who are just months away! Many jumped ship cos better deals ,TMs marketing a total failure! Once my contract is up I am sure jumping too The only issue is there is no better ship to jump to at my place yet. This post has been edited by AV_2018: Oct 1 2019, 04:42 PM

QUOTE(sampride @ Oct 1 2019, 05:05 PM) they actually quite clever. but it stated in their terms and condition. Basically you are signing up their new packages with new price for existing users. What about those on non-existent packages like 800Mbps?

QUOTE Any termination of unifi Home within the contract period: o unifi Basic plan (30Mbps - RM79) & unifi Lite plan (100Mbps - RM129) a penalty of remaining months will be imposed. o Other old packages a penalty fee of RM500 will be imposed. So according to this knowledge base article, those on older plans which are not currently on TM's website can terminate within contract by paying RM500 whereas those on new plans including the new 300Mbps has to pay remaining months as stated in the T&Cs linked on the respective plans on the website. EDIT: QUOTE In the event of early termination within the contract, customer will have to pay the remaining months balance as penalty. Looks like those who renew contract under the new promo will be subject to the new termination penalties. sourceThis post has been edited by AV_2018: Oct 3 2019, 03:43 PM

QUOTE(go626201 @ Oct 3 2019, 03:03 PM) For now,I choose to believe TM want to keep us for 2 more years of contract without changing price and plan. If really changes price,i will cut the plan with termination fee when new ISP coming. (No way for them to continue earn that money) I believe TM do this promotion because next year will got more ISP's fibre optics plan to all states of malaysia to take over TM' users. Good luck... seems if renew contract under this promo will be subject to new terms which means termination fee = remaining months fee = same amount as no terminate... see my post earlier for more info.
