anyone install a cooler to reduce the heat fr btu n router?
*
I am using laptop cooler for BTU and mikrotik router,so far only abit heat only.
And i bought a 12cm usb fan(taobao) for my Asus RT-AC66U,also lesser heat but still got abit higer temp than btu and mikrotik router. (low sound fan, because not placing in storeoom)

BTU and mikrotik place on storeroom.

Asus Router place beside my desktop pc on study room.

So far all in good condition, from my experience a little fan should enough for extending those device life.. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, anyone using ASUS's RT-AC66U router here? Suitable for Unifi Turbo 500mbps? I'm replacing my old TP-Link Wireless N router as at max it only gives me 200mbps via LAN. Tried changing modem but speed is worse (mine is gen 1). It's on sale on Lazada for only RM472.

Also, any advice on sharing file across network? The AC66U seems to only have USB 2.0, seems like it doesn't take external HDD too.
*
B1 version should okay for 500mbps, if non-B1 version confirm not enough.(I am using non-B1 version)

is it better to disable ipv6 on unifi?
And on 2.4ghz I can only reach around 50mbps while 5ghz can reach full 100mbps, is it suppose to be like this?
*
for most case, disabled will be better.
Depend on your device and router, but mostly cap by your device.

I'm using a 2 x DIY powerbank (with recycled 18650s from laptop) with 12V out for BTU and router. Haven't really had the opportunity to test them yet. Not quite UPS, I have to manually plug them in when power goes out.
*
I thought your diy powerbank was also like ups mode.. laugh.gif

Are there any free upgrade news or good news for current unifi customers? Got my free 800mbps upgrade and now waiting for new free stuffs from tm.
*
I dont think this year will have any good news for unifi, since TM was not earning more money from unifi...
Just hoping them do not adjust higher fee or bad connection is enough..haha

If you play for arena of valor Chinese version(王者荣耀),then bad connection is normal.
some moba game also managed by chinese company also host their server in china so dont hope good connection from them.

Err... You sure? It's already here in Malaysia, now waiting for more devices to be available in the market and 5G will be officially launched to users.
Major telcos are already in testing stage.
*
I mean the coverage will be very limited for following 1-2years.
So 5G phone for this year and next year for malaysia = no use...haha thumbup.gif
But of courses for like KL or Putrajaya might suitable for 5G network, but i dont think malaysia telco will expand so fast to national...
Until today 4G that can be use in my current state Johor only 30-40% coverage with no more than 10mbps normally...
I am using UmoXXXX, shit coverage...for Johor. (some place 3G 4G got signal no connection or 60% packet loss...)
Even Unifi mobile, also very limited coverage...for Johor.

Amazing! Mine hovers at 400Mbps like yesterday but upload is higher today.
user posted image

You're in Johor right?
*
Yup but so high download speed also not use..upload higher better ..
Can you sharing your routing to the server and let us to see whats the difference between mine and yours?

Update:
Add routing
user posted image

Update2:
After changing IP to 115.X ,latency drop abit.
user posted image

So different routing get different latency for TM...

Wonder if I downgrade my 500 to 100, will the speed be affected meaning will still be optimise to 100? Currently despite I am on 500mbps, I didn’t get the chance to enjoy it due to the modem TM offered. I am only getting ard 50-80 mbps on 2.4

Any clue?
*
Thats should be your router or your devices problem. You should use 5ghz for high speed.
2.4ghz normally cant run very high speed, normally mid level phone can only run up to 300mbps with 2.4ghz by 2x2 antenna. (With Best effort)
By 5ghz can run up to 866mbps by 2x2 antenna. (With Best effort)

Like my iphone 6, for 2.4ghz only about 70mbps,but 5ghz can run 200++mbps.
