It is very expensive as rm15 but I cant cancel it due to bind with my current account for house loan. Anyone know any way to waive this fee?

get one basic card without card?
there should be one with CIMB right?
then link it to your housing loan a/c?
should be possible right since they are from the same bank?

Initially I dont apply atm card but my cimbclick cant do transfer, so no choice I went to apply atm card. I normally bank in my salary to current acct to save interest then use it to pay the bills and credit card. The current acct already charge me rm10/month, some more hv pay this atm/debit card fee but I seldom withdraw from atm. Last year withdraw only 2 times from atm and I dont really need it. Cimbclikc really suck that you can only transfer if you register using atm card...

Because of PIN & Pay and MyDebit initiatives, all conventional ATM only cards are converted to ATM-cum-debit cards.

Go to Cimb ask them for free basic saving account. They will give you all kind of excuse not to open it. Kindly ignore and continue to insist for it.

Once basic saving account open, close your current account. To u can still use same login for cimb clicks. Your new basic saving account should be there. Keep in mind the amount of atm withdrawla/month and counter visits for the free basic saving accoubt.

Case settle.

I thought CIMBClicks account is tied to the ATM card.
Can he/she de-link the ATM card from the old SA to the newly open SA?

I don't have a house loan. Mine was just a the Airasia account with Cimb.

I think still possible to open a free BSA. Ask Cimb to link the loan to the BSA.

Not sure about other banks, for my bank personal and joint savings and loan under single bank, I have terminated the atm/debit card. Now using online to monitor and do transactions.

I have only 1 atm/debit card from another bank and I used that for withdrawals. Short of balance, just instant transfer and withdraw.

Not necessary to carry many cards even if is free.

I am taking cimb full flexi house loan, so current account is must. But it is very funny cimb request you must have atm card else transfer is not allowed in cimbclicks. Firstly I register cimbclicks with my current acct, however I cant perform any transfer in cimbclicks. Call them and they told you must have atm card first. This is the way they earn more money from customers. In other banks I dont see they need you must have atm card to perform transfer in online banking

I requested cimb to deactivate (not sure if this is the right word) my debit card functions instead of cancelling it and I have not been charged for the card fee since then.

Why would they give all kinds of excuses not to open it when it is listed in their website? Snapshot of the account as below from their website, for item 2 and 3, is it per month or per year? It's also coming with an ATM card, with no charges? Can i opt to say i don't want the ATM card? I plan to create the account for online transactions only.

If statement only, then card is mandatory

By opening free account, they don't earn money from you. You become a liability to them.

For CIMB, you need to close the existing account and open a BSA w/o fee.

Different bank has different policy to adhere to.

Hi all, just now I went cimb bank and was informed if I use cimb click using their basic savings account atm card, I can only see that account and nothing else. ie my current account and fds, investment, etc will not be shown online. Cannot be tied to the basic savings atm card.

Is this true for those who have the card and click? Thanks.

I don't know why they want to lie or are they just ignorant.... or they just want more money to their branch...

in my experience, when I wanted to open the BSA w/o fee, she said don't have such a product.
I said, website got. She said, no more!
I said, are you sure? Can you ask your manager? She said, even my manager will say the same thing. Definitely don't have.

I left and went to another branch. This other branch lady said, got! Who said no such product?

I've learned my lesson now. Next time, I'll ask them for their full name and worker's ID, and tell them that I'll report them to bank negara! vmad.gif

Open an account to find out. Is foc and if it doesnt serve your purpose, close it. If is too troublesome to close it, just leave minimum bal.

Then post your experience here to benefit others.

OK thanks, will open a new basic account and share experience here. Most likely next week.

In case I get crap again, can you advise your experience? Now I have fd, investment and current account with cimb. Some bros commented need to close existing current or savings account?

If no need, I apply for new bsa without fees, then apply Internet banking base on the new atm card. Login to check if I can see everything. If can and can perform fund transfer, then I go cancel the current account atm card to save the annual fee. Is the process correct?

Many thanks again for all bros who shared their experience.

I have 3 diff online bank acc and have only 1 bank atm card. All online function can be performed.

Once the atm card is cancelled, no charge for my case ... all SA. But is your CA RM 15 is only for atm card or other charges as well?

Hi there, I only have 1 atm card for the current account and the 15 is for the atm card only. Seems like this CIMB just wants to scam customers, so many diff versions, loopholes and workarounds.... I will try the BSA method first. Then cancel next year Sep if I still remember lol.

Hi there, I only have 1 atm card for the current account and the 15 is for the atm card only. Seems like this CIMB just wants to scam customers, so many diff versions, loopholes and workarounds....  I will try the BSA method first. Then cancel next year Sep if I still remember lol.
*
FYI: I opened a basic SA without fee and cancelled my Airasia SA. Got a new ATM card.
I was not allowed to link existing CIMBclick to my new account. Had to create a new userID.

"Best" part is, the previous cimbclick profile is still active and I can still login, only to be told of error.

OK thought I post update on this. I just applied for the Basic account with no fees. Able to create new online click profile and able to see all my accounts linked to the basic account. But don't know if I cancel my atm card for my current account what happens. ie if I will still see everything with the basic card profile. Also haven't test the fund transfer portion since my phone TAC is still tied to the old card. Will test it out next year before they request for annual fee again.... lol...

Eh, last year I opened a basic SA, transferred and cancelled AA SA account as well. Only debit card is new, don't recall having to create a new cimbclicks account.

Cimbclicks system really pening. I think i have one kwik , one cc and one banking account. Total 3 id and only the saving login can do all transaction like transfer and payment. Cc can only do cc related, same goes to kwik.
I dont understand why cimb make like this but i only use saving id to login.
All three id can view all the account thou.

Hey bro, did you know that there's two types of Basic Savings account without fee? Refer to two links below:

https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/day-to-...-account-i.html
https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/day-to-...gs-account.html

Happened to be the profit rate is 0.70% meanwhile 0.25% for interest rate.

So now not only me but others too are confused whether should go for profit or interest rate? Which account you created then?

BSA is free, why would you want to cancel something that's free?

Also one more thing I found out. No matter how one applies BSA and link all accounts, the fundamental principle is there.

Eg, I have both BSA and non BSA accounts in cimb. Both have atm and one is free one is chargeable. Both have their own separate click login. If I login to my BSA click account, I am able to see my other cimb accounts but I will only be able to transfer money from my BSA account and vice versa. So I am not able to cancel my non BSA account atm card because if I do, I will not be able to transfer money from that account online.

In short I have to pay the rm15 if I want to online transfer money from that non BSA account. For those who managed to have the atm card suspended or cancelled which resulted in 0 annual fee paid and still able to transfer the money, congrats because either a bug or you did it before they fix the issue.

usually the bank will give u grandmother story that say cannot change to non fee account (their kpi). generally try to close your account and say that u want to keep ur account but u don wanna pay the fee, then they will change (so far i know cimb and ambank boleh). ur deposits however little is vital for their kpi.

Did u mean u can change ur account type from a fee type into a non fee type, WITHOUT having to close the existing account, and open a new account? Thats was not the CIMB person told me. They said i must close the account and then open a new one, they cannot process the change for me

OK here's the catch with my case. Others might not have the same experience.

CIMB you can apply for non fee paying BSA. I have another current account with internet login. So when you log in, you can see your non paying BSA account. But you will not be able to transfer money from that account. Only the account you created your login you can do it. If I log in another internet account for that non paying BSA, I can transfer the money only from that account.

In the end I resign to my fate and pay the RM15 or whatever to CIMB. This CIMB really rip off...LOL.

I think u can close the fee paying one, and then open a new one which will work better. And i read online u can also transfer online using the non fee paying one. Agreed with u that cimb is really rip off. May be u need to close the other account first. I hope i don miss anything or misunderstand it, but thats the concept i get from reading the explanation online by cimb.

Unfortunately I cannot close the fee paying one. And the atm card seems mandatory and will charge even if I report as lost. As internet transfer very important to me, I never bother to report lost etc. Just pay Rm15 a year.

i managed to get mine changed.

end of day, i think it really depends on the branch and mood of the person you're dealing with, there might be new internal policies that could restrict such things. i converted my account back in 2019 without changing the account number etc. other things like how much money is in your account could be a factor too.
