I wouldn't mind if prices are slightly higher and the shop offers good service, but when the slight premium is almost one extra fold on the price, which dumb ass would actually wanna pay for them.

DDR is expensive...but the one i stated there should be considered cheap already. High performance ram for this type of price...

And also, about upgrading to C2D...some of us 939 users still very sayang with our rigs and really feel it's not time to part with them. Anyhow to me, it still serves me well, so maybe Phenom or Penryn will be a better choice, let's just wait a little longer and see.

May be have another reason, some part they sell also not so expensive..
But i just guess la, if not, how come can survive until now..

Actually in terms of benchies Intel is leading, but in real life experience, the differences with X2 seems to be marginal...You don't really feel it...

I am 1 st year master student.

I plan to buy Quad core. I am doing a rendering analysis, that is the reason i prefer Quadro FX. Unluckily i found out that my processor bottlenecks the Quadro FX performance.
If i just normal use or play games, i sure will take AMD, but i plan to do rendering, so only I plan to get a Intel processor. May be I will get a opteron too, but i havent decide yet.

I heard that opteron is stable enought compare with C2D, because it is a server proc.

Hmm, stability wise, i think both of them should be stable enough. The 939 Opterons were actually meant for desktop usage rather than server, it's just adapted from the 940 server Opteron.

Bsaically, if you want to go for the opteron, you won't need to give up your entire rig, just get the proc, but if you get the C2D, then it's almost a whole rig change...

It depends on you needs lar...I think the opty should work quite well already, but if you do have the ability to go further, why not right?

It is seldom saw people sell Geil Blue, I saw a 512MB X2 ram before. It is RM200.It is a nice price.

Not sure about the price slash though.
Even if AMD slashes their price, i doubt if the 939 prices will be affected as they are already out of production.

If i go Lowyat, most problably will be either Saturday or Sunday, i need to pick up a projector from my supplier in Imbi this week, so might have time to go around before i pick my stuff up. Btw, you have any budget limit for the cable? It's easier if you let me know how much you expect the cables to be, so if overbudget i won't get it for you.
