Flying in through Haneda or Narita? Haneda has no PPL or lounges which could be used with PP or any CC. tongue.gif
*
Nope, no Tokyo this round. tongue.gif
Will flying in to KIX.

Got PP ma... saved on one meal lor.  sweat.gif  tongue.gif

Joking. I really hate to be loitering around the departure areas when I'm flying. That is why I prefer to go into lounges, shake a leg, eat, drink, rest, sleep. read some magazines, watch tv, charge my phone etc.  laugh.gif  Right fruitie? laugh.gif
Ah KIX... then confirm got lounge.
*
Yes, I go into lounges for departures. Gonna waste time in airport, then just go to lounge to rest.

This round I will go to the Premium Outlet near to KIX before flying back to KL, I have whole day... My travelling partner will fly back in the morning while my flight is at night. bangwall.gif

The premium outlet near KIX airport? The name is Rinku PO or something. There are buses which could transport you to and from KIX to this PO.

Spending the whole day there?  sweat.gif Can never understand women's penchant for shopping.  laugh.gif
*
Yes, Rinku Premium Outlet. Correct, there are buses to ferry people to and fro.

I hope no... I'm not a big fan of brick & mortar shopping but need to kill time plus it is the last day of my trip, I hope I still have money to shop on that day. rolleyes.gif

Got credit cards. What's the purpose of those high credit limits if not utilized fully?  tongue.gif

Lol. On a serious note, you still have almost one full day left for any activities before you head to Kix. Maybe you can plan ahead and not waste time at PO. laugh.gif
*
tongue.gif

Yeah, I will plan what needs to do on that day, gotta find what is near to airport besides Rinku. biggrin.gif I will send off my friend to KIX in the morning, so I will store my luggage in airport before heading out on my own.

I thought saw a NHK documentary few months ago in relation to novel activities near KIX during layover, quite informative:

Exploring near Kansai Airport & Treasure Hunting at 100-yen Shops
*
Yeah but almost everything needs booking. laugh.gif
Thanks for sharing, at least I know I can plan somewhere near KIX. biggrin.gif

Thanks very much for the feedback! I see, so better to start of with English and use limited Japanese if needed, right? If I go with 2nd option, should I tell them my Japanese is very limited?

For the coupon its this ( https://www.nagasaki-ropeway.jp/facility/coupon.php ) Unfortunately its all in Japanese, so I wanted to be sure if this discount can be applied for all persons or do my party have to buy their individual ticket to get this discount. Hahaha.
*
You don't need to, just show the coupon. I also saved it already for my upcoming trip in Nov. It is the same discount regardless how many tickets you are getting.

Actually, I'm quite surprised that Chinese literate people will have no problem reading Japanese as apparently wordings are very similar. Damn, should have paid more attention during mandarin classes last time.  laugh.gif

Thank you very much all! Much appreciated your explanation. Will be going in Oct so I want to prepare early. Japan is not a cheap country to go visit so trying to get as much deals and coupons as I can but I dunwanna scrimp and just live off kombini bento box sets. Hahaha!
I ady target to use 500yen one day tram pass as another good deal I could use during my trip there.
*
500 yen tram pass is good but I won't use it on the first day, it is lesser than 500 yen for my case.
I will stay in one of the hotels which is within the free shuttle to ropeway station, so that gonna save a bit.

I calculated that if some days it will benefit then I buy, otherwise I would use Suica card per trip.

I will be looking to stay at Nagasaki Eki and the bus to ropeway station from there is just 150yen so whistling.gif  Originally I wanted to go to Takaramachi and walk there! Haha!
I got conflicting info about Glover Garden that some of their display houses are closed but there was a posted notice saying it is only due for closure in Jan 2020. Unsure if its worth going if they ady closed the main Glover house.
*
When I booked my accommodation, I didn't have much choice and coincidentally the one I booked is one of the hotels. tongue.gif So might as well just stay there. laugh.gif

Glover Garden is within walking distance from my hotel, you can check out and let me know because it is in my itinerary. I will only go after you. tongue.gif

Hi there, do you have any recommendation for airport transfer from kansai airport? We arrive kansai airport quite late at night and bringing small toddler, easier for us to move. Average at most website charge more than rm600 per trip. Anyone using traveloka? Charge for rm400 only, is it legit?

Thank you in advance 🙏
*
Traveloka is a legit site, booked my flight ticket from them before.

Is it a good idea to spend a day at Shiga? Assuming I have an extra day to spare in Kyoto. I have been to Kobe and I find it like a mini Osaka. laugh.gif I am thinking to skip Kobe and replace it with Shiga. I haven't figured out how to go to those attractions yet without a car, I hope it's doable. laugh.gif

Lots of things to do/see in Shiga but I think their train line is mostly JR so definitely advantageous if you have some sort of JR Pass.
IC cards might work well not sure.

From the top of my head, there is Lake Biwa, Hikone, Omihachiman and some onsens on the west side of Lake Biwa.
*
Yeah JR Pass but mine will expire by then. laugh.gif
So IC card is fine to buy ticket on the spot.

I think Shiga is not too bad for day trip from Kyoto?

About to pull the trigger on 2 x USJ Express Pass 7 from kkday which offers the cheapest for my dates in mid November.

By any chance anyone can share a workable promo code as there isn't any on the internet sad.gif
*
KKDay doesn't allow promo code for USJ tickets because it's controlled price unlike Klook which allows.

Do you all have any recommended sites or suggestions on which pass should I get for Kyoto? Should I just stick to to IC card? I'm going crazy soon after reading so many different types of passes. rclxub.gif

We plan to cover all the main Kyoto attractions and maybe one day to Arashiyama. I believe can book online for Sagano Romantic Train but the best view is car no. 5 that cannot be booked online? Any tips on this?

I will spend 2.5 days in Kyoto (includes Arashiyama) and one day in Shiga. For Osaka, I have bought one-day Osaka Amazing Pass. I'm thinking of Kyoto pass (not the Sightseeing pass) that covers Kyoto buses and subways which I can get from Kyoto Station. Good choice?

Also, any pass that I can use for Shiga?

I have not done so much of homework for a trip before and this two-week of Japan trip is slowly draining my energy..

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Sep 9 2019, 09:15 PM)
i don't bother reading which pass i would get
because all the pass that i should get are either impossible to collect because of time constaint(due to late arrival) or i will be somewhere else when the office is open
as for the sagano ticket, it's also impossible for me to collect due to i'm using it on day 3 and day 2(full day after arrival), i will be at higashiyama area till very late night
so i can only hope there is ticket from kameoka station toward arashiyama...if not thn i just take the train straight to arashiyama instead of umahori
the kyoto daily bus pass, i calculated that i won't be able to fully use it

so my whole kansai trip, i will just be using PASMO the whole way
*
I'm not collecting any pass too. Osaka Amazing Pass will be posted to my friend's house in China, we got it from Taobao. Only JR pass needs to collect but we are flexible, can collect on second day, first day almost impossible to do it in KIX. Let's say I'm getting Kyoto pass, need to purchase on the spot from Kyoto Station. I don't like collecting passes too. laugh.gif

If only Japan allows mobile version. laugh.gif

I will probably stick to Icoca too for Kyoto.

for me it's purely
1. i cannot fully utilize them(due to my itinerary)
2. time constraint(cannot collect them)
3. location of collection is not in favour of my itinerary

so i end up did not even plan to use any pass and use pasmo all the way through my trip
sagano train, i just let luck do the part because the days i'm going there is china holiday's week laugh.gif
*
Klook's collection place is at somewhere near Namba and yes I find it inconvenient too. That's why didn't get from them.

QUOTE(Monya Meow Meow @ Sep 10 2019, 07:00 AM)
For within Kyoto itself (including Arashiyama), just use your IC card (ICOCA/PASMO/SUICA).
No stress  smile.gif
*
Yeah, I reckoned that's what I'm going to do. Just IC card, no need to stress anymore.
I just dislike reloading it with cash only.. sad.gif

QUOTE(vreis @ Sep 10 2019, 09:23 AM)
Usually JR Pass bought direct from JR website?
*
Yeah, or sites like Klook or KKDay, can Google for it. smile.gif
I got mine from Taobao, much cheaper.

Anyway, does anyone know where can I buy daily unlimited 500 yen Nagasaki tram tickets? Real experience sharing is appreciated.

Nop

JR Rail Pass had to buy at Malaysia authorized Travel Company.
Then you will get Exchange Order. Once you reach Japan, Go to JR Ticket Office and used the Exchange Order to exchange JR Rail Pass.
*
Oops. Yeah, you are right. My mind hasn't refreshed yet early in the morning. laugh.gif
I refer to JR site for various passes information.

Same here, I hate the cash only option but what to do?
Unless you buy the ICOCA card from Klook which is already pre-loaded with ¥1,500 and hope that it can last you  hmm.gif
*
laugh.gif No, my trip from airport to hotel already 1.6k yen. laugh.gif
And cannot buy from them, costs more and will close by 10pm. No thanks, I will buy from the machine. tongue.gif
