Planning for family trip for 8 (2 elderly folks) from 25th Feb to 28th Feb to Fukuoka. Do you guys think we should just travel around Fukuoka will do?

Honestly I don't find many interesting places at Fukuoka. Just use Fukuoka as a base for you to travel out to other nearby cities, counties. Hakata station is a major station for many shinkansen lines and you can travel to Kumamoto, Yufuin, Beppu, Oita, Nagasaki for instance.

I just came back from Northern Kyushu recently and this is my personal preference, of course everyone has different opinions. smile.gif

I feel the same too after spending this afternoon to research about the places in Fukuoka. Thanks for validating.

Nevertheless, the places I mentioned are interesting. smile.gif
I prefer Kyushu over Kansai due to lesser popularity and lesser tourists, I went to both regions recently and Kyushu did give us surprises.

Thanks, Sifu.
I plan to go Japan without carry any "Yen". I just afraid that withdraw unsuccessful/ fail only.

Used BigPay and withdrew from Seven ATM, only RM 10 per withdrawal, no extra charges. Moreover, BP has super good exchange rate, must utilize it.
I suggest you to bring some Yen along and withdraw while you are there. Japan is still a cash society, just prepare for emergency.

Well, I didn't use a single cent of Euro in cash when I travelled on my Europe trips, can't say and do the same for Japan.

Do we need to enable overseas ATM withdrawal on BP before that ?

Furthermore on the 7ATM, does it only dispense JPY or also our local currency ? Just to make sure what to expect  hmm.gif

No need la.. BP's usage is for overseas, so no need to enable anything.

Only JPY currency... You are in Japan of course their local currency... sweat.gif

maybe gotten the statement slightly wrong.. you know where we transact through the cc terminals and they'd ask us to follow RM rates or JPY rates ? just wondering if that would also appear on the ATM machine..

sorry for the confusion and dragging on this off topic too long  doh.gif  notworthy.gif

In any circumstances, you should only choose local currency which is JPY. Never ever choose MYR in any country when you travel abroad.

I'm a bit confused, so do we need to activate the BPay card overseas first or not?

No.
