Yeah, Japan is still my favourite besides Australia.
In the last 8 years, I did Europe 2x, Japan 2x, Aus 2x and some other ASIAN countries.
Still the best is Japan and i am having my 3rd visit next month. But the currency is bad now adays. I am doing not so popular tourist spots this time like wakayama and etc.

BTW, please share if you managed to get cheap promo tix for USJ.
*
I already bought my USJ tickets earlier with Klook B1F1, now wanna buy Express Tickets. Waiting for any promo or 10.10 sales.
Anyway, there's 5% for MBB cards now. Better than nothing.

Back to travels, Japan is not my favourite country yet but I like it. laugh.gif
Travelled to many countries all these years and I don't have any country which I really like yet. laugh.gif

I missed it too. I think mid of the year, I bought voucher from someone in Carousell.
So, just go to the event to get yours. biggrin.gif

Which one? Entrance ticket or Express ticket?
For Express ticket, I'm checking both Klook and Taobao, see which one is cheaper.

Oops.

QUOTE(JasonTheGreat @ Sep 19 2019, 10:08 AM)
Update me also ya which one is cheaper.
I will be in USJ on 8 Nov. Ticket B
*
I will be there on 6th Nov. The cheapest ticket. tongue.gif
Klook B1F1 is the cheapest, so grab that. Else I think Taobao is cheaper but you need to check from a lot of sellers and compare one by one. Time consuming though.

KOP is a fancy ICOCA (it has the ICOCA logo on the card) for foreign tourists only with discount benefits for some places in Kansai.
Maybe you can see if any of the benefits is of any use to you: https://kansaionepass.com/en/list/category/benefitspots

I'm afraid I can't answer your second question cos I have not used my KOP outside of Kansai. You're right about IC cards being accepted in Japan nationwide so theoretically it can. Maybe someone else who has used an ICOCA outside of Kansai can confirm this for you.  biggrin.gif
Actually your calculation should be the other way round:
Kansai One Pass = 3000 yen - 500 yen deposit = 2500 yen value in card
ICOCA = 2000 yen - 500 yen deposit = 1500 yen value in card

So price is actually the same, just that you get more value in the Kansai One Pass card to use.

Yes, you can get the Haruka discounted ticket with the Kansai One Pass. I bought this when I was in Osaka last year.  smile.gif
*
Yeah, I will read about it. Thanks for the tips. biggrin.gif
If I don't utilize the discounts then I will just normal Icoca card. However, I do need to reload 3k yen as a start for my trips, so KOP sounds just about right.

Yeah, transportation not cheap there.  nod.gif
Used my Kansai One Pass on a few train and bus rides and the 2500 yen value also habis already. Had to reload another 1000 yen to make sure I can still move around.  laugh.gif

If I'm not getting down at stations like Shin-Osaka, Kyoto Station, is Haruka ticket from airport still worth for it?
I'll get down at Nagahoribashi, Osaka. Will use Nankai Ltd Exp or Rapi:t Alfa depending on the schedule.

Oh, if you're not getting off at Kyoto or Shin-Osaka, I suggest you shouldn't bother with the Haruka train. Just save your money for eating - use the Nankai Ltd Express and switch trains at Tengachaya station.
*
Yeah, I will skip Haruka train then. biggrin.gif

Can't say I would support scalpers, not saying you though. Imagine if all the tickets are bought by taobao agents, what's left for the regular people?
*
For my case, they will only buy one day in advance. They have one person to queue up to buy according to the time we wanted, they don't sapu all the timing la.. If sapu liao, nobody wants, how? sweat.gif

For sure scalpers know when to scalp. Their not stupid. I won't be surprised if MR_alien cannot find seats on website but is available on taobao. But to each their own, its not illegal anyways so no harm done.
*
laugh.gif Maybe. I got them because I didn't have additional time to spend there, so better get a fixed timing that fits my schedule. tongue.gif
Actually I also don't know how much this scenic coach is. laugh.gif I see the amount kinda affordable, then just grab one, at least I don't need to be headache of the timing. laugh.gif

Actually not everything they scalp, for some of the entrance tickets, they are cheaper. Tried before multiple times for China attractions, Thailand, USS in Singapore and even Sunway Lagoon.

If I didn't get B1F1 from Klook for USJ, I will get from them too. The price is cheaper than USJ site.

Just a quick check, based on Sagano Scenic homepage

"Reserving and purchasing basic fare tickets for the Sagano Torokko train became possible on May 21, 2019, through JR-WEST ONLINE TRAIN RESERVATION, JR-West’s new online reservation service. Visit our website(Reserve/Purchase Tickets) to reserve or purchase tickets."

and I do manage to find the route here
https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/ticket/route_search/

This is the scenic train you are referring to right?

As far as I know they have 2 types of ticket, Advance sales (1 month advance) and On-the-day ticket.
*
Good site. Can keep for reference.

Cheaper is becoz of bulk buying discounts, usually under group or corporate buys. They still get profits after paying off ground agents/runners. Main reason why they scalp, otherwise nobody will do work for free. For those not so hot (like daily limited thing) they won't overcharge you, but for those time limited stuff, they kaw overcharge to max just becoz they know they can.

This is different than those travel website co-promos where the discounts are really by them in cooperation with the ticket sellers. Usually they limit how many tickets can be bought from the same credit card, so as to discourage scalping.

As said, I don't & won't support them but its not illegal & no harm done.
*
Thanks for the earlier shared site, I think I will book mine via the official site and go there to exchange to "The Rich" coach. biggrin.gif
OK la, don't allow them to scalp me. tongue.gif
But before I cancel, let me check the site first. laugh.gif

my option left is
1. go to saga-arashiyama JR station...take the sagano train from saga to kameoka...thn umahori back to saga-arashiyama JR thn walk to the bamboo forest
or
2. forget the sagano train and just explore the bamboo forest and surrounding area

Just tried with your date on the JR website and it shows still available, I chose up to 6 tickets and still able to proceed.
