From Malaysia to Japan. The cigarettes here are expensive. 480yen to 500 yen per box. I'm just asking not forcing. Cuz I know it would be suspicious for people to help carry items like this for an unknown stranger

I'll be staying for almost more than a month in Tokyo.
*
I think your question isn't clear.

You're going to Japan so why can't you buy the cigarettes by yourself? Is it due to the quantity restriction per person to hand carry/check in?

Anyhow I'm sure there are people who might help..

dam klook, usj no other promo, not even 15%.only fxxking b1f1 rush. no more next time.

better use my time earn more money to buy full price.

Don't need to sweat over a few hundred $ la bro considering a holiday trip to Japan is in the region of thousands of $. Small savings is of course good but not a deal break. Have a fun trip to Japan smile.gif

On the other hand, the other 15%/20% discounts still apply to things like ICOCA/Airport trains/trips/etc. I will be getting my nankai and haruka with the vouchers. Kimono rental not decided yet as you need to specify the exact date..

Just need some clarification on the following:

1) Can I purchase Haruka using Kansai One Pass?
2) The only place to purchase Haruka in Kyoto is at Kyoto station?
3) The discounted Haruka from Kyoto to Kansai airport costs 1,600 Yen right?

Thanks!

Yes for questions 1 & 3.

For question 2, I think you may be right but can't be 100% sure
*
Further to question 1 regarding "Can I purchase Haruka using Kansai One Pass?"...

I found out ICOCA only works on JR lines where Nankai is not a JR line, so technically you can't use ICOCA to pay for a Nankai Limited express ticket? hmm.gif

QUOTE(Monya Meow Meow @ Sep 29 2019, 01:44 PM)
ICOCA does not work on JR lines only, it works on all lines.

HOWEVER...

You cannot use your ICOCA to pay for the Nankai Ltd Express ticket as it falls into the category of trains that require a limited express surcharge.
*
Thanks!

My plane is arriving at 920 p.m at night and I hope I can make it for the Limited express last train at 10.55pm. If I could not make it, I would have to take the normal Express train and I hope there won't be many people else gotta stand the whole way, also there's no dedicated storage space sad.gif

Another question:

After touchdown, I need to purchase 2 things:

1) Kansai One Pass at JR West ticket office
2) Nankai Limited express/normal

Is the nankai ticket office at the same place as the JR West ticket office?

Apparently, the JR West ticket office is located at the airport station next to the airport (need to cross bridge).

If JR West office is too far away, I will just buy normal Icoca card. Discounts may not be that important for me.

Not sure how far is it but you can get an idea here:

just bought osaka amazing pass. 2 days pass.

how many places can I possible to get this for 2 days?
which ones worth to visit? thank you
can I purchase 10 suica cards for myself alone? I don't want to top up 10k yen. better purchase 10 cards
*
Thanks for mentioning about osaka amazing pass, I honestly thought it was just an unlimited rides pass like Kansai thru pass and like many other passes.

I went through the list of free entrances and it might be worthwhile to get the 1 day pass considering I have 3 full days to spend in Osaka.

Quite interested in the Osaka wonder Cruise, Osaka housing and living (definitely), Japan night walk tour, nakanoshima night view cruise, Osaka Tennoji zoo, keitakuen garden, redhorse osaka wheel, expo 70 commemorative Park.

I get 3 full days  in Osaka but choose 2 days pass since 1 day pass already 2800 yen. 2 days pass 3700 yen. Is it worthwhile spend 3 days in Osaka and 2 full days in Kyoto? Heard Kyoto better than Osaka but hotel there expensive

Why you all buy OAP just 1 day? Price expensive for 1 day. Osaka nothing much meh? Beside attractions can use OAP for public transport right
*
Kyoto is well known for its old Town, Gion and the tons of beautiful shrines/temples/gardens. A more picturesque place in my opinion especially if you're into photography.

I only intend to visit a few places in Osaka hence the one day pass only and the passes are not cheap lol. Most of the time would be shopping/window shopping, eating and walking around.

QUOTE(victorsoo @ Sep 30 2019, 10:50 AM)
Nankai ticket office is just beside the JR ticket office. Don't worry, Kansai Airport is not a large airport and once you exit the arrival gate, the ticket offices are nearby.

You can most likely get seats on the normal airport express as KIX is the first station. Yes, it does not have luggage storage area but last time I took it, I had 1 regular sized backpack and 1 medium sized luggage bag so just put the backpack on my lap and hold onto the luggage bag to make sure it doesn't roll away or obstruct people's way.
*
Thanks! That's quite a relief!

I might still go for the limited express if I can reach the ticket office early. More comfy as I will have my hands free and can check messages/sim card activation, check hotel reservations, etc.

I would arrive at Namba and rhe hotel is only 11 minutes walking distance but I think I'll take the taxi as its late at night already (close to 12 midnight?).

I read that there is a 20% extra charge for late night taxis? Distance is around 1.3km and I estimate around 2,400Y sweat.gif

Here's my route to the hotel by walking :

How do I divide total of 9 days trip for Osaka and Kyoto?

Osaka 6 days, Kyoto 3 days?

Should I just stay in Osaka and do day trip to Kyoto?
*
Osaka and Kyoto are two quite different cities...so it depends on what your itinerary is really? What do you want to do?

For my itinerary is 5 nights in Osaka, 7 for Kyoto. Osaka for USJ, food and shopping. Kyoto for visiting the old city, gardens, temples, shrines and enjoying the serene and beautiful sceneries.

I think I'm done with my pre purchases for Japan. So far I've already booked my accommodation, flight tickets, USJ tickets & passes and I got my sim cards.

For kimono rentals and sagano train tickets, will decide when I'm in Japan [for flexibility in itinerary] because you need to specify the exact date which I didn't like.

Which are the must see temples/shrines for the scenery and autumn leaves for those who have been to Kyoto? Judging from pictures alone, perhaps Tofukuji, Tenryuji, Daigoji?

HI,

I'm going to Kyoto on 23 oct, would like to ask is it worth to purchase the Sagano romantic train (in Arashiyama) around that period. Because I wonder got foliage at that time, or just all green leaves.
*
If you want to view the autumn colours at its peak in Kyoto, you should go between mid to end November actually..judging from past few years foliage reports..

Is didi quite widely available in Osaka and Kyoto already? From some reading apparently so. It's even displayed in Google maps navigation.

yeah knowing the foliage season is around mid to end Nov, but no choice the oct ticket price is attractive so just bought october.

So does that mean the whole mountain will be green leaves? if it is, maybe not so worth to buy the Sagano sightseeing train tickets..
*
You may want to do some searching on that, maybe even YouTube.

Next thought would be.. since I would be reaching kyoto station via limousine bus around 12am - 1am..  I think, for me to move on to my hotel at mitsui garden, would by via taxi or walk only right? train services would have stopped already..  sad.gif  anyone knows roughly how much would the taxi fares be like?

With reference to the Osaka Amazing Pass and klook has 10% off (max RM50 discount) no minimum amount today, I'm thinking of getting a 2 day pass instead which I can utilise more compared to 1 day.

On average the pass will cost me RM125 per person. Just by simple calculations:

Assuming transportation cost for one return trip at minimum average costs 200Y x2 = 400Y, I would only need to make 8 return trips for 2 days to fully utilise the 2 day pass. That's not even counting the free entrances to various places yet.
