Hi, I am currently subscribed to the RM129 package which only comes with playtv app version and not the STB version. Was wondering if its possible to ask TM to bind the mac id of the box (buy from outside) so I can use the STB box to watch? PLaytv App is lacking of those channels that STB has.

I am not very sure, but if you tell them that you are going to subscribe into their complete pack, let's say the ultimate I am sure they can help on that. But another thing, they a bit reluctant to help if we are buying the STB ourself and not from theirs.

Since they don't provide anymore, thats the only option that we got. Ultimate we need to pay an additional Rm30 if i am not mistaken. So if I get that package.. I should be able to get it registered?

Some who had stb package but downgraded, they cud get them to tag old stb, use old stb for free.

New users who got their own stb failed to get tagging fo free, gotta pay.

So, call them to find out for yr case.

Note... diff unifi staff speaks diff... this is their way of doing biz...and they seem to enjoy it... so, u never know what u get.

Refer to 1st page, the last white box is the newer one and from that you can buy from online (shopee, lazada, carousell, lelong etc) as low below than RM200.

is the white one Huawei, and got problem with binding Mac address?

It depends on TM, different users came with different output with different CS, some succeeded and some are not. You can try your bargaining skills with them

ah nvm i solved it by installing magisk manager, hide it and reinstall the app. apparently the app will not work on rooted device.

So, I tried with Edge. Says it does not support unifytv.

You must root tm box. Then used root explorer find somewhere in root directory Unifi apps.

Hi, I was on Streamyx 1Mbps long time ago and was upgraded to Unifi lite 10Mbps with ruby plus package last November. Since TM stop providing STB, I did not get one either.

However I got a second hand white huawei STB today and called in to request to register my new STB MAC with my iptv account. The CS agent denied my request and claimed that my account can only be used for Unifi Play Tv but not with STB (e.g. hypptv). Tried 3 agent and all three giving me the same answer claiming I do not have STB asset thus cant bind new MAC with my account.

One agent also suggest me to contact sales department to upgrade to unifi tv ultimate pack so i can use STB with extra monthly commitment of RM30.

I guess we can no longer bind STB MAC to your account if you do not have STB in the first place.

Unifi play tv was hard for my old man to navigate using remote. They prefer tekan tekan nomber to switch channel with STB.

Anyone have any other work around without paying extra RM30 monthly to use STB?

So TM will not provide the STB Box, what is the best way to watch Unifi TV on your TV? You can only install on phone and desktop (only on IE), and not on android box.

did tm just said that i cannot downgrade my unifi tv from ultimate?

unifitv is the resident app in the box, bound to that box mac no.

u can't extract n use it on another device unless u get unifi to bind it to that other device.

for other devices, u use unifi playtv app; it's not the same thing.

unifi playtv app can be used on certain android boxes but not all.

it can also be used on smart tv's running on androidtv os.
