from yesterday UI, I only can see IFlix apps. no other app was pre-installed. also cannot launch yet.
*
It is pre installed if you have the new homescreen. You can see Netflix if you go to settings on the homescreen and see the installed apps and system info page. There is no way to launch it because it is not shown on homescreen or in apps section in TV app. Only Iflix can launch.

*the homescreen I mention in this post is referring to the STB homescreen (press home on remote) not the TV app homescreen that was changed yesterday.

When clicking the ‘Menu’ button, there seem to be iflix in the ‘Apps’ section but can’t seem to install it.
*
Iflix and Netflix are pre-installed as can be seen in the photo below. Iflix can be launched from the menu after connecting to Wi-Fi (should be able to but I did not try as I did not connect STB to Wi-Fi and got an error message about Wi-Fi not connected). Netflix can't be launched yet as it is nowhere to be found on homescreen or menu.

Hi guys, noob question here.

I noe the UniFi AC1200 does not support VLAN over wifi but is it possible if we connect the VLAN port (LAN4) to an access point and make it wirelessly connect to the STB?

My BTU is on the first floor and I wanna use for my smart tv downstairs.
*
I think should work. But the access point can only be used for Unifi TV in that case. Also the Wi-Fi has to be stable enough or else the TV channel will stutter. Other features on the STB like Iflix can't be used since it relies on WiFi for Internet.

"UNIFI TV IS UPGRADING OUR SERVICE TO SERVE YOU BETTER FROM 2 DEC TO 15 DEC 2019. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE." spotted scrolling across bottom of screen on tvN.

I'm facing lag and hang for my hypptv white stb, long time didn't turn on, read about the new UI, decided to have a look, can't even access.
*
The new UI looks nice but slow to response to button presses. The TV channels can watch without lag.

I just upgraded to Unifi 100Mbps and I try to connect my previously owned white colour Huawei Unifi EC6108V8 STB from Streamyx subscription but fail. I never use the STB before and since today I am free so I try it up.

I've tried using LAN cable connect to port 4 at the Unifi TP-Link Archer C1200. Internet and telephone are working fine. The bottom right of the main screen is showing an icon of LAN network but with a "!" on it.

So My STB is connected to Wifi as well. Browsing by using the built-in browser is working fine but every time I launch the HyppTV app and with the correct username and password, it gives me connectivity error. I am 100% sure my username and password are correct as I can log into the playtv@unifi mobile app without any issue.

May I know what happen? How can I resolve this?

When only LAN cable is connected, when I run the "Test Network Connection", only "Network connection" field gets 1 green tick and the rest from number 2 to number 7 all get red cross. So it seems it is not connected to internet at all. If it is connected to Wifi and LAN cable at the same time, only the "NTP connectivity" and "Multicast connectivity" are having red cross. Is that normal?

I never do any configuration on my router. I've checked, the VLAN for port 4 is set to IPTV with VLAN ID 600. This should be correct right?

What should I do to settle this issue? Please help.
*
1. Can only use STB if current plan/account supports STB. You should have a xxx@iptv username and password that is DIFFERENT from playTV app password.
2. Check if STB is set to Unifi mode or Streamyx mode in the settings. Need change to Unifi to use on Unifi IPTV VLAN.
3. Connect to port 4 of router (VLAN600).
4. Need call TM to bind the STB if you can't login successfully. This can usually only be done by TM installer/technician.
* for working unifi tv, multicast connectivity red cross is usual. At least number 1 to 5(NTP) should be in green with cable connected without Wi-Fi.

I found up the Ruby Plus pack, the National Geographic has been removing to watching from TV via STB. We have to subscribe RM9 in order to continue watching Start from November.

WTF is this? Can TM do this with the contract ???
*
Consider lucky that TM didn't suddenly increase total pack price like astro last time without choice.

Already contacted them. Hope they can help me out.
By the way, my username is in format of xxx@iptv but from what you told me, seems there are so many different type?
My bill stated "Unifi playTV lite".

Why TM so mafan one?  bangwall.gif
*
As far as I know, only RM159 and above plans come with STB. Other lower plans can only use playTV app. There may be some exceptions for existing customers who changed plans.

Have just bought a Panasonic GX 740. Is it possible to instal playtv@unifi into the TV?
Play google does not allow me to: error browser does not support. Java.
*
Most Panasonic TVs including yours do not run on Android TV operating system. Therefore, it is not possible to install anything from Google Play or manually install any Android apps on such TVs.

Update: corrected info based on new info that Panasonic TVs that run on Android TV operating system do exist.

Found out today that 502 Love Nature HD and 720 Youth Winter Olympic Games channels are available on white Unifi STB and playTV app.

Edit: add channel numbers

Addon: these two channels not shown on TV Mosaic. As I've mentioned here before, the TV Mosaic is not reliable and will sometimes be missing channels. If solely rely on this mosaic, you may sometimes miss some channels that are actually in your plan.

Ya... I'm already not expecting much since months ago. This new STB is already beyond my expectations. Just thought new STB might have Netflix since they've signed with them and old STB has Netflix pre installed although unusable at the moment. But the way it's stated in the PDF might mean it's not ready yet but may be available.

On playTV app, Love Nature HD only has bitrates lower than 1Mbps available whereas some Chinese channels that are not really in HD are available in up to 4.8Mbps. Looks like they mess up again.

QUOTE(taqu @ Jan 15 2020, 01:31 PM)
The pros for using a dedicated VLAN 600 for IPTV:

1. Dedicated bandwidth for IPTV. Very important when Unifi speed still 10-20 Mbps.

The cons of using a dedicated VLAN 600 for IPTV:

1. Need a compatible router.
2. Your STB must be connected to your router eg Port 4. If you want to put it away eg router in store room, TV on living room, you need to extend a LAN cable or use a Powerline.

As we have 100 Mbps and more with good latency, VLAN 600 is no longer necessary. Youtube & Netflix can stream 4K without problems so why not TM follow suit.
*
Don't forget about multicast. With dedicated VLAN can use multicast so the server can easily provide high bitrate channels to many users simultaneously without congestion. Dedicated VLAN also has guaranteed quality of service unlike Internet which is best effort.
Can't compare with Netflix and YouTube. Their bitrates are not high quality enough (can still see banding and microblocking often) and they sometimes buffer.

I'm afraid TM will make their 4K content exclusive to their new STB only. Is Astro 4K available without using Astro Ultra STB?
*
Some astro HD channels are not available on non-HD STB isn't it?

Not only SCM. Almost all if not all Chinese channels are in SD. I already mentioned here long ago. Already try complain TM also but still SD until now. Even the NOW channels that are in HD long ago become SD.

Apparently getting the Plus box also renews your Unifi TV subscription for 24 months!

So it's not just rm10 for the box.

Works on my Bravia 2016. Just search in TV's PlayStore and it'll show the correct one if there is more than one type of the same app.

All the apps available on new Unifi STB except Unifi TV app should be usable on any Android TV such as Bravia.

Yes, this bbc player app is also now in regular android google playstore.

Navigate with mouse... the ATG version can do with remote.

Essentially same app, both started oct 2019.

So, any ultimate user wanting this bbc player app, it is now available on any android device, regular or ATV.
*
The BBC Player for Android phone is already available since a long time ago. I remember using it when BBC Player was launched on Unifi.

Edit: PlayStore shows February 2017
