Ya. Often have missing channels or channels no longer exist but still there. Sometimes when I enter a channel, the content is different from the preview! So I usually just use guide or info instead of grid.

Works smooth on my Sony TV. Splash screen is longer than other apps at ~5 seconds but after that it's almost lag free. No crashes so far.

Received too.

Updated on phone and Google TV. After restart become Disney+ only and inside have Hulu instead of Star.



About the HP4BF STB

It is smoother with way less lag compared to the previous gen STB that I used at relative's place but running the Unifi 2.0 app on Google TV is still smoother. It also has AV1 video decoder that works on YouTube up to 4K60 HDR as well as ability to match content dynamic range. Android 14 with 5 May 2025 security patch and 5.15 kernel. Hailstorm version 6.4.0. Compared to Google TV, it appears to be missing privacy section in settings menu. It appears to always output audio in Dolby MAT format where it is PCM but triggers Dolby Surround decoder on AV Receiver. The STB can be controlled with TV remote via HDMI CEC.

About Unifi TV 2.0

Average bitrate is around 4Mbps measured with router. The quality looks good enough. It reaches max quality when opening channels in <= 3 seconds and before that it is instantly at close to max quality. Compared to Unifi 1.0 app, it is way better. Previous app takes longer time to load a channel, starts off with blurry low resolution and takes longer to reach max quality as well as often takes forever to load menus. The TV guide layout is also nicer to use compared to previous app and is closer to old VLAN STB.

Difference between Unifi STB and running the Unifi 2.0 app on Google TV device:
Although they look similar, the layout is actually different such as on catch-up page.
Unifi TV 2.0 on STB has Netflix icon and content integrated in the home page but not in Unifi TV 2.0 app on Google TV.
Apps page on STB and TV app is different.
Google TV app can auto default to English subtitles but STB need to set subtitle every time change channel.
The audio and subtitle setting page looks different on both. Google TV one shows more languages than STB.
STB can sign in without phone app and can manage signed-in devices but Google TV app need phone app to sign-in and cannot manage signed-in devices.

Both my Google TV and Unifi STB are connected via Ethernet with Wi-Fi disabled.

There is a Google Play issue recently. The connection issue page happened on both Unifi TV Box and Google TV. Need to clear data of Play Store app then it is back to normal. Note that if you've previously changed any settings in Google Play from default, they will be reset to default after clear data.

For some reason the Unifi TV Box keeps installing the Android TV version (com.tm.unifitv.tv) of Unifi TV 2.0 app which is not needed since the Unifi Custom Launcher (net.oregan.onyx.tm.unifi) itself is already Unifi TV 2.0. Uninstalled the app, put the box in standby mode for 10 seconds. Turn it back on and the app is back. Can repeat as many times.

The old VLAN STB still works for now.

VLAN STB (the white box) still works. Both old (VLAN) and new (Unifi TV 2.0) box works. Let's see how long the old one works. Everyone should be upgraded to Unifi 2.0 by 11 November according to schedule.

White box still working as usual on VLAN here just now. No notices pop-up either.

So far I have watched an entire series on catch-up section using Unifi TV 2.0 on Sony Android TV 12 Google TV and there are no lags, hangs or crashes.

Now it no longer auto-install the duplicate Unifi TV 2.0 app after I uninstalled it.

Yes still working. Though it is still connected and working, everyone here including senior citizens are using the Unifi TV 2.0 app installed on TV instead of the box.

Last time Android TV also like that, no way to hide Bluetooth then halfway watching something neighbour try to pair and fullscreen popup with pairing PIN. Now my Google TV is no longer broadcasting Bluetooth all the time.

Old VLAN white STB no longer working. I don't know when exactly it stopped since no one's been using it. Unifi TV 2.0 app is no problem for the senior citizens that I know. The ones I know can use YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, iQiyi and even Windows 11 and also Android with gesture navigation.
