Yup. Malaysian broadcasting standard is 25FPS/50Hz interlaced for 576 and 1080 resolutions. Unifi TV, astro and MYTV STBs all output at 1080i50 by default. I don't know what framerate they use to encode the international channels but all local channels are 25FPS/50Hz.

In addition, to further complicate things and cause more framerate mismatch, there are movies and dramas filmed in 24FPS. This is probably why some movies on 201 and some dramas on 211 look even more jerky. Probably undergone double conversion, 24p -> 60i -> 50i, so messed up already.

Mine is not STB issue, the STB is outputting 1080i50 all the time for sure and only those several channels are in SD. Other HD channels are in good HD quality. So the problem is in TM's encoding of the channel. The channels have problem in the playTV app as well and you can notice that even the LPF logo is in wrong aspect ratio proving that TM is handling those HD channels as SD 4:3 channels instead of HD 16:9.

Long ago when I complained to TM, they asked me restart STB and check HDMI cable etc and want send people to come check but no one ever came so I gave up and posted here.

The list is in this thread but I haven't check recently so I don't know if there are any more changes. Someone mentioned some movie channels became SD recently in the other thread too.

Looks like they're not caring much about their TV department anymore. In that case they should just totally shut it and lower the price of broadband plans and not force customers to pay for poor quality TV service that they don't even care about.

I also have FOX movies. Using Ultimate pack with STB on Unifi.
I also have Netflix shown here in the app which I cannot access.

Don't know if STB got effect but I have access to that channel outside free preview also. Maybe they didn't open free preview for app?

TM signed deal with Netflix is 2017, Netflix appears in playTV app subscibed section, then Netflix app appears in Unifi TV STB... But until now still can't launch the app or access Netflix.

Channel 100 never showed the full channel list from the beginning, always have channels missing there. Please check actual channel first.

Seems I still have it.

You mean 225 now Baogu? I still have, just checked.

And no... Channel 100 was not complete, there was few channels missing there previously. It's only complete now because TM remove channels till total channels can fit in 5 pages but channel 110 still missing from the list.

I have france24 and NHK premium on channel 100 although they are blank. Now it's complete other than the preview channel 110 missing. But last time it was not complete when the total number of channels cannot fit in 5 pages.

I rarely use channel 100 since it is not always reliable.

I have now Baogu on playTV app too.

What about existing 800Mbps with Ultimate Pack?

If the info floating around is correct then it has both Ethernet port and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi now supports 5GHz and has MIMO. I guess it'll still be like old box where Ethernet is for Unifi TV VLAN and Wi-Fi is for the streaming apps and others.

Can dedicated high bitrate and multicast work without a separate VLAN? YouTube is poorer image quality than real HD on a dedicated IPTV network and it is also not guaranteed to stream flawlessly all the time subject to congestion. All streaming services like YouTube and Netflix use lower bitrate than an IPTV or satellite broadcast because they can't use multicast or broadcast to save bandwidth. They also provide multiple qualities and auto select resolution because they can't guarantee it will work at max resolution all the time. Same thing like Unifi TV on Streamyx which doesn't have dedicated VLAN bandwidth.

We've already seen what happen with supposedly new Sony channels. In the end nothing happened.

Just watch on myFreeview in HD. The TV1 and TV2 on pay-TV platforms are not in HD.

Available on non-4K STB also?
Update: just checked, only visible on new playTV app for now. I don't have account for new app so can't test if can be watched or not. On Unifi STB there's a new "Test Colors TV" channel though. This channel is visible on EPG but not visible on channel 100 mosaic. As I've mentioned before, the mosaic channel sometimes doesn't show all channels. The EPG is more reliable to get a complete channel listing.

Probably only available on new 4K STB as well as new playTV app.

<outdated>It's only available on Unifi, NOT on Unifi Lite or Streamyx. Can press blue button to access also. It sometimes doesn't show every channel also.</outdated>

New playTV@unifi app can now be used with existing Unifi TV account . The 4K channel has disappeared though.

No more mosaic feature.

Got the new UI too... So now there's no more settings in the TV app it seems?

Maybe yours not yet. My @iptv account yesterday try cannot then today can already.

You can install on phone/tablet then use APK extractor app to get the APK.

Netflix is already pre installed in the last firmware update. Just no way to launch it yet.
