how to watch unifi playtv via laptop/desktop?

It's currently not accessible via Windows PC & macOS as unifi playTV only supports streaming thru iOS & Android smartphones and tablets, and Android TV.

Before the overhaul change of the UI in Nov 2019, unifi playTV was accessible on PC via Internet Explorer 11.

Officially, yes it's not available to access on Windows PC.

As a workaround, you can watch unifi playTV app on computer (not unifi TV app for Android TV one) by using Android emulator, Bluestacks.
Upon set up Bluestacks, login to your Google Account (Gmail) as usual, and download unifi playTV app on Google Play Store inside the Bluestacks Android emulator.

Audio/subtitles options and video bitrate.




Playing Catch Up VOD content works well too.

It is somehow improper to use Android emulator for unifi playTV app, but technically it is possible.
If the specs of your computer/laptop isn't powerful enough, or doesn't support hardware virtualisation technology (VT), running Bluestacks may be quite a struggle as the overall app will be very lag.

Why there is no option to log in using Facebook?

Yep, from November 2019 onwards, and it's currently unavailable to watch for desktop users.

It only works for purchasing especially VOD content e.g. HyppFlicks Plus for iOS users, as the iOS app of unifi playTV doesn't allow in-app purchasing instead. For Android users (both Android Mobile and Android TV) have no problem doing so.

You can't stream any content on Unifi playTV from a web browser, especially on a computer.
It is supported only on smart devices (iOS and Android) for now, and we don't know why, and we don't expect it to be made available to view on PC anytime soon either.

Hi all,

The current plan that I've will let me have 2 concurrent devices. I made a funny decision and ditch the hypptv device when my router went kaput since DECO M9 will not have me having the extra port for switch. But then I've bought a TPLINK switch with VLAN support, setup everything okay. Now, how on earth I can take over the devices on this hypptv? It doesn't have an option like what we've on the playtv app and I couldn't find a release device either on the website. Help!!! I can't watch using the hypptv box

Am getting this on my TV.

Buy an android box download playtv app and stream via wifi?

I've android box with playtv but I'm getting lot of timeout problem just like the one posted few posts above me. I don't have this problem with my Hypptv box before.

I'm using ATV mecool boxes and all is working well so I'm not sure if it's your box type version

It seems that in the network, it gave a multicast error.



I believe I've done the correct setting for the hypptv/VLAN600. I did this before with microtik switch and now with tplink sg105e.
