Can you please test the 5ghz wifi speed?

I meant when u watch "live tv" in hbo go, does the audio and visual have out of sync issue? mine on tx3 mini has, not that obvious but noticeable.
*
this slight out of sync happens to astrogo as well.

it happens in many devices, and depends on the channel itself... some slight, some no lag.... been like that since the beginning.

it is either some complex bug they haven't solved or something the devices cannot handle..?

Tanix TX3 S905X3 - a brief evaluation.

Amlogic S905x3 soc, 4+64gb, android9, Alice UI.
1xusb 3.0, 1xusb 2.0, 100mbps rj45, 2.4ghz/5ghz (N).
the rest, u can google n read.

.. has root switch under settings/superuser - u just close it to install/run current official apk's that require unrooted, e.g. astrogo, unifi playtv.

.. 4k HDR 60hz work fine with KODI player; there is a Dolby Vision enabled option - never tested, same with 8K since my equipment isn't such.

.. audio - with movie player app and kodi, u can dd/dd+/dts 5.1 local playback, video is smooth. VLC and MX player apps can't produce DD/DTS.

(too bad, it CANNOT do hd audio like dtshdma, ddtruehd like tx5max, unlike tx3 mini/max which can.
i think this is due to tx3 mini/max uses older, more mature AML s905w; whereas newer s905x2, s905x3, s922x - most low cost boxes cannot do hd audio.)

.. there is no auto frame rate (AFR) feature but streaming/playback is smooth (tx3mini/max has it but does not work!).
using kodi player, no micro stutters even when playing a 2160p hdr BDMV/m2ts file of 60mbps bit rate.

.. picture quality - much like tx5 max, good enough, not very diff from tx3 mini/max.

.. apps - all common apps work fine; including astrogo, unifi playtv, china apps, ahem apps.

.. wifi - ethernet, u get 95-96mbps, wifi 5ghz (n) 40-50mbps if close enough; wifi 2.4ghz 30-40mbps if within good range.
(tx5max has AC wifi, gigabit port - i get 820mbps with ethernet, 200mbps wifi - this is why it is more expensive but is no longer in Tanix product offer.

.. plenty of storage, i dumped in many apps, still 55gb available.

.. no overheating issue.. it stays a bit warm only after several hours.

.. the box has option for remote power button to "shut down" or "sleep"; sleep is useful - it hibernates instantly and reactivates instantly.

.. there is a screen saver feature - u can select default screen or a pic of yr own.

.. big storage is useful for p2p usage, e.g. kodi quasar works very well, smoother than 2 other boxes 2+16gb that I have.

.. Alice UI - u can replace all shortcuts on the screen, top and bottom section.

my overall assessment of this new tx3 s905x3: for its price, it is well worth it.
for those who do not need big storage, the 4+32gb should be more than sufficient.
i like this new tx3 more than tx3 mini/max for its smoother video playback; tx3 mini/max stutters a bit with huge videos but can do hd audio.
i guess u can't have it all for such a price.

i bought from below... bought 11 nov, received 18 nov.

A typical wireless wifi mouse is my recommendation. Preferably it should have a power on/power off button to stop battery drain, as we only use it occasionally.

"remote" as in one to replace the orig? that, i have no idea.

if u mean mouse... for complete ease of use, u can spend rm50 or so on a wireless mouse or at most an airmouse - maybe rm80?

i have an mele F10 airmouse but i prefer simple wireless mouse.

with the mouse + remote, all is good.

note airmouse power switch does NOT power off the box, u still need the remote to shutdown or sleep (depending on setting).

Air mouse power button can learn from original remote power button

Wireless mouse is still the best

That's when the confusion starts.

Because air mouse buttons are able to work in dual mode, one is in the wifi mode, one is in the IR mode. When we reprogram a button, it is operating in IR mode ( ie non-wifi mode ). But normally we operate in wifi mode to use the air mouse functions. ......

They should make a few buttons strictly working in IR mode.

I think it's RF mode, not wifi

WIFI and RF is almost synonymous. In your understanding, what is the difference ? biggrin.gif

Normally we use word WIFI to mean higher frequency RF.

In the case of the airmouse dongle, it actually works in 2.4Ghz, the exactly same frequency use for typical WIFI.

The point is correct but strange. The term wifi mouse leads to different meaning.
Normal terms: wireless mouse, RF mouse
