QUOTE(ekifaht @ Jun 21 2019, 06:08 PM) You’re right. I just called them up to make an appointment and asked them about the charges. Not much difference from Sunway Medical Center :/ However, UMSC is using the same dc and building just different floor 🤣🤣 but u can choose ur favourite dc. The parking in the building is so packed. So I think u go Sunway better. 😆

QUOTE(babepiggy @ Sep 21 2019, 02:29 PM) Can I choose my preferred delivery methon eg c-section in Umsc? I think you posted at the wrong thread. UMSC is the private wing, UMMC/PPUM is the half private half gov and this thread is for PPUM.

QUOTE(Vodoo2k @ Feb 7 2019, 09:13 AM) Hi ! All of our 6 babies were born in UM with 5 in UMSC (Specialist wing) and the last one in PPUM. In my case, we followed the gynae and yupe, cost also plays an important part in deciding where to deliver your miracle hehe. PPUM is actually on the same floor as UMSC and other than you can't choose the attending doc who will receive your baby plus the difference in costs, there is not so much difference between UMSC and PPUM. On the cost though, there has been a steady increase for UMSC since 2008 till now. My first daughter was born in 2008 with a total cost of RM2200 for a 3 days 2 night stay versus my 5th boy who was born in 2016 with a total cost of RM5500 for a 1 day no night stay hahah. My last daughter born last year in 2018 at PPUM costs only RM450++. For registration, you need the buku merah klinik kesihatan from your klinik kesihatan and go register at PPUM as usual. Crowd wise you can't complaint much but one thing I find dificult is the parking. God damn hard to find a parking in PPUM. It costs too. Other than that, I think all is good hehe. Goodluck. The cost you mention is Natural delivery or operation? Thanks

QUOTE(dannychen @ May 25 2019, 10:24 PM) I have notice some inaccurate information on the above posts. Correct info are as follows. 1) booking can be made at PPUM klinik antenatal counter as soon as you know you are pregnant. Just bring what ever photo/report from private clinic or pink book if you went to Klinik Kesihatan earlier. No referral letter is required. 2) first check up appointment is usually 2 months later from your booking date. 3) need to pay RM500 deposit + RM 31 registration during first check up. Inborn Error of Metabolism Test (RM80 - Optional) payable during first appointment if you wish to do it when your baby is born later. 4) earliest first check up appointment will be in July 2019 now. Would like to confirm that once the first appointment is made, subsequently all the necessary check ups and delivery can be done in PPUM right (just wondering if there is any things that can't be done in PPUM)? Thank you:)

Thank you:) not necessary to do check up at PPUM, but we prefer to do it there because hospital is still better than KK with greater facilities. Especially if you have any complications during pregnancy. Nothing can't be done at PPUM so far except 4d, 5d, 6d scan. You can do normal ultrasound, NT scan, anomaly scan, OGTT and etc. there.

I plan to deliver at PPUM soon. However, PPUM is now supporting Covid19 cases. Do you think it is still safe to deliver at PPUM? Any opinion?

Risk is there always. previously few Covid 19 death cases were occurred in PPUM. as far as I know, all the government hospital not allow husband to accompany wife during labor anymore. previously PPUM does allow husband to go in to the labour room. not sure about now. in fact, they cancelled all appointments for three months and focusing solely on Covid 19 treatments.

Getting Started

|
My wife's EDD will be on Sept 2020. Initially we decided to deliver at PPUM. But now since the Covid19, i want to know if they still accepting??
My wife is at 4th month pregnancy. Is it ok to wait for another 2 months to decide? Or it will be too late?
*there is a speculation that MCO will be extended to June 2020*
Thanks All. Stay safe.
