I am expecting my first child at 29/03/2019. confused.gif
Previously all my checkup's are done at private clinic.

I decided to deliver at PPUM

Is there anyone who knows what to do to register for delivery there?
I heard it's very crowded..

Other experience also welcome to share icon_question.gif

Have u register or did checkup in gov hospital before?
If not.. Easiest would be to go to ppum FPP, walk in allowed. U can even see the rooms and check booking for your edd.

FPP is also available in other public hospitals. Go Google it up. Full paying patient

you can do your check up at PPUM, PPUM+KK or PPUM+private. it is entirely up to you. normal delivery cost RM500++ and Cesarean cost RM 1000++. check up done at PPUM all stored in their computer, just in case you didn't delivery there you will not have any records in hard copy in hand if you only do your check ups at PPUM.

Hi, my choice to deliver is PPUM too. EDD mid March.
For me, I have a pink book - got from KKIA checkup. KKIA nurse wrote a referral letter to PPUM.
After that can go to PPUM and make a booking. Press "B" on machine to get the queue ticket. Do remember to bring pink book along. The first visit is basically to set a date for next visit which includes registration, consultation and ultrasound scan.

Hi
Is this ur wife’s blog. May I ask if the rm500 is a deposit for delivery or the fees for consultation ?

As far as I know KKIA is free for checkups and blood test then only towards 7-8th mth we go checkup at ppukm am I right ?

Also can the husband be in the delivery room if ur wife deliver and also can the husband stay overnight at the hospital wif the wife after delivery ?

No, it is not my wife's blog, by 5mths pregnancy you should already make appointment to deliver there. 7-8 mths too late already. If I'm not mistaken, normal birth, husband can enter the labor room but cannot stay overnight. PPUM very strict with this procedure. The easiest way is to call the clinic directly 0379492715

I got the referral letter from KKIA at week28. Went there the first time to make appointment only.
First checkup at PPUM was at week30. Am still going back to KKIA for checkup now.
Have you registered in PPUM already? The RM500 deposit is for delivery purpose.

Hi !
All of our 6 babies were born in UM with 5 in UMSC (Specialist wing) and the last one in PPUM. In my case, we followed the gynae and yupe, cost also plays an important part in deciding where to deliver your miracle hehe. PPUM is actually on the same floor as UMSC and other than you can't choose the attending doc who will receive your baby plus the difference in costs, there is not so much difference between UMSC and PPUM. On the cost though, there has been a steady increase for UMSC since 2008 till now. My first daughter was born in 2008 with a total cost of RM2200 for a 3 days 2 night stay versus my 5th boy who was born in 2016 with a total cost of RM5500 for a 1 day no night stay hahah. My last daughter born last year in 2018 at PPUM costs only RM450++.

For registration, you need the buku merah klinik kesihatan from your klinik kesihatan and go register at PPUM as usual. Crowd wise you can't complaint much but one thing I find dificult is the parking. God damn hard to find a parking in PPUM. It costs too. Other than that, I think all is good hehe.

Goodluck.

Good choice choosing PPUM. Had my 1st one there, and going to have the 2nd there soon too. The nurses in maternity ward do a commendable job. And i heard they allow spouse to be beside during delivery now. In 2016 for my 1st one, they did not.

Me and wife just made our booking to deliver at PPUM today. Wife is currently 14 weeks pregnant but in fact you can make your booking from 12th week onwards. Appointment for April and May is all taken so our first appointment with doctor will be in June, so my advise is make your booking early or else you will be denied to deliver in PPUM.

All these while we did our checkup at private clinic, so not necessary to have the buku merah, just get all the scan reports and if possible, a referral letter from your private clinic doctor. Bring all your documents and head to Klinik Ginekologi. It's a bit of walking from the parking lot.

Arrived at klinik ginekologi and there's already a huge crowd at 8:30am. Press B on the machine to get a queueing number and was pleasant to find out there's only 4 person ahead of us, so waited for about 20 mins, submit the reports and chose our first appointment date with doctor. Together we have to make booking for an ultrasound scan.

Overall everything was good, and got to know husband will be able to accompany wife into the labour room now.

Hi .

I am 36 weeks pregnant and still unclear where to deliver .

My first choice was Al - Islam Medical Centre . Due to highly suggested by friends and also the price . They charge RM 2300 - 2500 depending on the room . Also the room is on availability as they do not have much single room . Cons : They do not have paediatric / neonatal ICU .

Then , my second choice and current choice is FPP Putrajaya . We were staying with my mother in law at Bangi thus , this hospital is very suitable with us . I must admit that the appointment and booking is very hard to get . We were lucky that there was only 1 slot for my due date ; 6th June 2019 . Cons : now am staying at setiawangsa and scared that we wont make it to the fpp .

So , few friends suggested PPUM . What stopping me from making the booking are the husband is not allow to overnight and also , scared no more slot .

Confuse lor

Hey there. I think it's safe to remove PPUM from your list as their appointment with doctor is all taken up until Mid June. I know because me and wife were there to make our booking for delivery on Monday. Wife is on the 15th week anyway.
