Me and wife just made our booking to deliver at PPUM today. Wife is currently 14 weeks pregnant but in fact you can make your booking from 12th week onwards. Appointment for April and May is all taken so our first appointment with doctor will be in June, so my advise is make your booking early or else you will be denied to deliver in PPUM.

All these while we did our checkup at private clinic, so not necessary to have the buku merah, just get all the scan reports and if possible, a referral letter from your private clinic doctor. Bring all your documents and head to Klinik Ginekologi. It's a bit of walking from the parking lot.

Arrived at klinik ginekologi and there's already a huge crowd at 8:30am. Press B on the machine to get a queueing number and was pleasant to find out there's only 4 person ahead of us, so waited for about 20 mins, submit the reports and chose our first appointment date with doctor. Together we have to make booking for an ultrasound scan.

Overall everything was good, and got to know husband will be able to accompany wife into the labour room now.

Hey there. No we're not from government and as far as I know PPUM does not offer FPP. Our first appointment with doctor will be on 13th June and by then we'll have to put down RM500 deposit.

Dear all, I'm also wondering couple of things, would appreciate if you could share your experience:

1. I was told that the ones who receive your baby in the cases without complications are Medical Officers, not the higher ranking and more experienced professors, even if you do checkups with one during last months of pregnancy. Supposedly they only step in when there are any complications. How has your experience been with MOs?

2. I was also told they give you hospital robes and you are not allowed to wear your own clothes instead, is that true?  Supposedly you can only wear something underneath, like warm pants and cardigan (bc allegedly it's quite cold in the wards), but you can't opt to just wear your own stuff.

3. Are husbands now allowed to be with the wife during the delivery? I forgot to ask the doctor last time. I'm ok if they are not allowed to stay overnight - I'd rather my husband goes home and sleeps/rests, but he wants to be present during the delivery.

4. Are phones still not allowed in wards?? That's preposterous

Oh, and btw, for those whom this info could be useful, Malaysian deposit is not RM500 anymore, it's RM1000, and for foreigners, it's RM5000. I have also a standard service price list somewhere if interested, latest information received on 3 June 2020.

Hi all, does anyone have info on whether PPUM/UMMC allows us to choose to have a C section? Or do they do it only in necessary cases? Thanks in advance

Hi, I have been visiting Klinik KK since 3 months pregnancy and now I have decided to deliver in PPUM (5 months pregnant now). My first appointment in PPUM is around July, however, I was wondering is it necessary to go KKIA AND PPUM? I thought is either one. Or we can discuss with KKIA or PPUM to go either one? Please advise dearest mummies. Thank you.
