Hi.
Thinking of getting medical for my 16 month old kid. Was thinking of only medical, but the agent (aia) is asking me to take investment linked life as well. Does that make sense? Also for medical coverage, which is generally better...prudential or aia? Thanks! |

Does that make sense? To you.....do you want it? paying more premium for that investment product? how long do you want to buy for your child knowing that expenses will be more tied to it in the coming years, like milks and pampers, schooling, childcare, etc, etc. do you want the results of that investment? is it worth it compare to your onw investment? To the agent....yes of couse....higher the premium better the commission.... Also for medical coverage, which is generally better...prudential or aia? i think there are most probably the same as this industry is regulated and very competitive Thanks! |

QUOTE(techm @ Jun 28 2019, 01:31 PM) Hi. Just get medical, sock the remaining investment/savings portion in Amanah Saham fixed price funds (definitely ASB1 if you're bumi). If you're not diligent enough to get the units, put into a bond unit trust with good track record like Libra Asnita or FDs at promo rate.Thinking of getting medical for my 16 month old kid. Guys,
Lets say if I have an AIA card aplushealth, if for the second year I am diagnose with sickness A, upon third year renewal, can AIA exclude the sickness A that happen during the policy period? Somehow the amendment by insurance company may be funny if they only cover ONE time then exclude the next year. |

Somehow the amendment by insurance company may be funny if they only cover ONE time then exclude the next year. while waiting for this interesting question, I googled and notice that, this "AIA card aplus health" is a medical insurance plan not a critical illness (CI) insurance plan. COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL PROTECTION https://www.aia.com.my/content/dam/my/en/do...0(Compiled).pdf https://www.aia.com.my/en/our-products/medi...lus-health.html the difference ..... Medical Insurance Vs Critical Illness Insurance https://www.aia.com.my/en/what-matters/fina...-insurance.html thus, on this,.... "Lets say if I have an AIA card aplushealth, if for the second year I am diagnose with sickness A, upon third year renewal, can AIA exclude the sickness A that happen during the policy period?" i think, it will still covers without any exemption, being not in the coverage scope of Aplus Health plan.....for that critical illness thing will be covered by CI insurance plan (if any purchased). caveat emptor while waiting for the real sifus to corrects..... QUOTE(crusher @ Jun 29 2019, 10:07 PM) from one of the link provided earlier....(see attached image) depending on the type of CI insurance you had .... since they will pay out lump sum upon diagnose of one of the illness under coverage, the policy i think will deem to be fulfilled/closed. thus any new application will be subjected to their review ...... normal, loading, exclusion or not accepted..... btw, if diagnose of an illness on 2 yr....i think they will look for sign of early symptom from the clinics/hospital around your house/workplace..... if found, they may review the application to see if you did make any declaration or not......if no declaration during application...then Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(MUM @ Jun 30 2019, 12:42 AM) from one of the link provided earlier.... I think CI and Medical Card is a different thing. CI is always pay a lump sum if you diagnose with it. Guaranteed renewal It is advisable to opt for a MHI policy that provides guaranteed renewal, especially when you are older (above 50 years old). Though guaranteed renewal is subject to the terms and conditions specified in the policy, it ensures protection is available throughout despite recent diagnosis of illness. However, the renewal premiums payable is not guaranteed or fixed. For older policyholders, look out for the age of renewal and age of entry. Certain insurers only allow up to 60 years of age, while others like Prudential’s PRUhealth and PRUvalue med allows up to 100 years old. With the average life expectancy of Malaysians at age 75, it is prudent to consider this when shopping for MHI. https://www.imoney.my/articles/all-you-need...nce-in-malaysia This post has been edited by MUM: Jun 30 2019, 10:39 AM |
