Yes, very true. Sometimes they will match the online price. But not always.
*
I've asked before few shops, all said they can't match when I wanted to buy the sony wh-1000xm3.
Think that time the shop was selling somewhere 1399 (already discounted from RRP) but online about 1099.
They said that's online, they cannot match that

Grabfood delivery charges so expensive now, most of the places last time they charge about RM 6, now increase to RM 9.50

I dont know if you are into badminton, because my usual spot for stock up my badminton gears accept grabpay, and normally thats why i use my grab points.
*
Not into badminton, wondering if All IT stores do sell cash vouchers (they sell cash vouchers online but unable to use Grab points to redeem).
In-store redemption cost about 165 points to RM 1, worried this will be devalued too after these 2 weeks useless so called super sale

If u r at places with many GrabFood merchants, try look n see if can find eating place offering dishes ~rm10 with no min order fee n can self pick up. I redeemed 30x rm10 food vouchers for this purpose n within 2 days have already used up 8.
*
Good idea, can try but I need to redeem large amount to clear. Super regret that day didn't redeem everything on the Caring voucher, that's the best ever offer probably in the past 1 year

Edit: Actually I really never thought of the self pickup idea really not bad if have restaurant nearby I will redeem as many as I can manage to utilise before expiry

Finally able to use the grabpay RM10 voucher (standard chartered RM100 topup) to pay for free lunch at McDonald branch, town area, Kuching.  rclxm9.gif

Not able to use grabpay to pay through the kiosk (error say go pay at front counter) but do so at the payment counter (they scan me). Since payment is made at the payment counter, wonder if other McDonald branch also accept grabpay.  hmm.gif

The Mcdonald branch with kiosk also heavily promote Maybank QRpay and Mcdonald app. Cannot see any logo of grabpay at all. laugh.gif

Have to be very careful with these vouchers, I always forget and buy something less than RM 10. As it's auto applied regardless of the amount you spend, you can easily overlook this. I once spent RM 5 and totally forgotten I've this voucher, and it stupidly applied my RM 10 voucher on this purchase

But it is the highest reward giving e-wallet at the moment with innate 1.875% cashback (approximate)
Compared to TNG with no base reward and Boost currently fluctuating reward...
GP is the current best e-wallet atm
*
Totally agree TNG is the most useless if no promo, but somehow I think it's the most popular....

Yes, its adoption rate at hawker centre, wet market and night market seems like better than Boost.

GrabPay on the hand is still lagging behind.
*
It's clear that whenever someone owes me money and want to transfer to my e-wallet, 90% will ask to transfer to TNG.

RM 10 GrabPay voucher awarded upon reloading RM 100 using SC credit card; FCFS.

GrabFood voucher is only meant for GrabFood transactions.
Probably try order using GrabFood and do pickup yourself.
*
Really not sure why certain outlets don't have self collect, cannot be their cost higher right....

yes, but some store's price is higher in GrabFood, since self pickup better order in the store if price differs
*
I think those without any vouchers no reason to order through self pick up, it's more for those with lots of vouchers, on monthly discount subscription or during Grab promo

Self pickup is worthy if there is promo code available for certain restaurants. Ongoing promo is PASSPORT 30% off for selected restaurants.

And if samep price, using grab pickup is also more worthy if grabpay is not available. Some restaurants are not accepting grabpay but have grabfood service (for exampla boost juice, weird but ya).
*
Previously got one promo before this PASSPORT, I think 50% one, cannot do self pickup if use this promo code

QUOTE(MGM @ Oct 29 2020, 07:52 AM)
It is a good feature for consumer which seems not encouraged, unlike Panda which allows filtering for self pick up eateries and gives additional discount.
I think Grabfood is losing the war judging from the number of riders on the road.
*
Previously they have 1 icon just click self pickup, now no more guess true not encouraged really don't know the logic.
If delivery fee like RM 10 understand la maybe they want to allow driver to earn or Grab earn more, but even quite a number of shops nearby now only charge delivery RM 0.50, so don't tell me they earn less if we pick up ourselves? We pick up they no need pay the driver

I bought RM 50 just to try it out. Go to My Order -> Softpin and few hours later the status still show recharging.

Am I missing something here?

I've done it many times (but paid with Boost), always get the pin quite immediate.

Why not retry and see if it's immediate this time?

Retried and got it, probably some issues yesterday night.
Thanks

Didn't use my Maybank Grabcard for so long after receiving it since I still have lots of credits. But just tried to top up RM 100 2 days ago still no points yet.

I know there are faq mentioning the 5x top up points will be reflected after few days (after transaction posted), based on real encounter how many days normally you guys receive it in your app?

Hopefully the extra points is reliable, very lazy to reconcile due to timing difference, when top up transactions increase very messy already when need to keep checking.
