I wouldn’t say one is better than the other.

Depending if you are biased towards a bit more comfort and quietness (P4) or a bit better handling and stronger side wall (T005). They are both touring tyres so the difference is not hugely different. Tyre / car reviewers often happy to trade off the quietness and comfort for anything with snappy handling. It may not be the case if you are a daily commuter.

I would say for smaller car pick T005. For larger sedan pick P4.

I didn't. But the T005A is very sensitive to pressure. It will become very bumpy if you inflates according to recommended pressure. My car cold inflated pressure is 240kpa, which is too much and i just inflated to 210kpa cold.

Hi everyone, here's tyre test conducted in Taiwan for BS T005 vs Michelin P4 (The former wins). Hope it helps.

T005 wins on the fact it doesn’t waffle as much as P4. The race car driver assess the tyres a lot based on handling performance and prefers a tauter tyres. It is clear that T005 is the better in these departments. What if you like a more comfort and quiet tyres would you then go for the P4?

Finally i made a bold move today, change my 16k mileage T005A to Primacy 4. I can't stand the impact and road roar caused by the stiff sidewall of T005 and hope for calmer and softer ride from P4, and it doesn't dissapoint me.

I actually slightly up size my tyre profile from 215/55/R17 to 215/60/R17 in the process.

1. Low frequency road roar reduce drastically on those coarse tarmac, and i barely can feel those tiny vibration from the steering. The vibration is obvious in T005. With the same speed, now wind noise become very obvious due to the tyre roar is silenced. Previously the road feedback from road imperfection is too much, the steering vibrate as if the balancing is off.
2. The additional 1cm thicker and softer side wall absorb most of the impact when hit the badly paved uneven surface. The Impact noise transmit to the cabin now is very subtle especially go through those thick yellow speed line.
3. Before that T005 is inflated 210kpa during cold, now P4 at 220kpa yet still comfort than T005.
4. Didn't test the braking power as indon't think will be much worse than that. Cornering to me most or less same as T005, no big difference.
5. Tread noise wise T005 have the upper hand due to the fine groove used. U can hear it when ride through a very smooth road, u can hear slightly more mid high frequency noise from P4 but isn't a big deal, to me low freq road roar is the big issue.

So for those u would like to know user experience from T005 and P4 comparison, here it is.

Excellent real world review instead of just YouTube track testing by track driver. Now you can choose you tyres based on your own priorities.

May I also add that Pirelli Cinturato P7 fits somewhere between the P4 and T005.

Actually is quite a big sacrifice in terms of money.

The T005A is RM380/pc when i change on April this year, after 16k i only able to trade in RM80/pc.

So 1st choice is very important, otherwise you will have to either stand with it until next tyre change or you burn money like me.

True, tyres have got no values upon trade in. I'll wait for mine to finish first.

T005 more to performance and P4 more to comfort? Am i right?

because i am having difficulties choosing between this 2 for my size...found t005 rm300 a piece vs P4 rm380 a piece...

there is no 4st, only Primacy 4.

btw, that Taiwan video on comparing T005 v Primacy 4, take note T005 and T005A are two different tayars. T005 is geared towards performance-comfort whereas T005A is more comfort oriented. so there is no surprise if T005 bested Primacy 4 in most of the tests. T005A is more comparable to Primacy 4.

I think you have mistaken something. T005A is made for Asean market. The A is for Asean market.
