Went to Watson's today hoping to use Boost but was told that they were not ready for Boost despite banners in the store promoting Boost already. What a joke.

You should push harder. I was at a place where there are stickers on their laptop saying boost accepted, but the cashier says no. I asked to speak to manager etc, finally willing to try it out - the equipments are all there, just unwilling
I pushed that hard because it was 50% time, and I intend to max it out, otherwise I pun lazy nak layan

Looks like the same case as 99 speedmart: staffs aren’t trained on how to use it

I have trained front line people before. I was told that one of the reasons many are reluctant to try is because they scared if they didn't do it right and payment didn't go through, they might have to compensate. Unless upper management push them and train them sufficiently, and punish those who refuse to learn / accept, hard to move forward.

This is very common here, and it's something Boost really needs to sort it out, and they should inform the new merchants to not show anything that they accept Boost if they haven't got everything prepared yet.

Otherwise you'll get crappy merchants like 99 speedmart who are not even sincere in accepting the service.

No, probably only available in selected outlets for the time being, I've been to a few Mr DIY and I didn't see any stickers showing that they accept it.

The only one I saw with the sticker was at The Mines.

I would say don't bother until they sort their biggest issue out with their implementation, which is by using their phone to scan your code.

This just makes the staff giving you tons of excuses.

Yesterday, I went to 99Speedmart.
Before, below RM20/30 cannot use credit card to pay.

Yesterday, different story.
I bought air Milo <RM3 and said want to pay with Boost.
She said "Tak leceh ke bayar guna Boost ni. Guna cash la".
I said "I don't have cash. Can use credit card?"
She replied "Boleh je".

I wonder who's the customer and who's the staff? Never gonna go to 99 speedmart lol, I don't want the staff to control my preference in payment method as well.

it doesnt matter whether you scan the merchant’s qr code or the merchant scans your app qr code. they are both considered “scan&pay”

apart from this, there is an interesting finding. a forumer reported that he received weekly special cb for paying with boost via fave app. another forumer also just mentioned that paying with boost via 11st app is also considered scan&pay, although we need to purposely log in to pay with boost via 11st app and fave app but no qr code is displayed

yup bought auntie anne buy one free one using maxis app and asked boleh pakai favepay and she said boleh, then pay with favepay linked to boosts and get shake RM0.10 from boost and 5% cash back from favepay
