And you must say the right things of course during the interview |

Hi everyone, i was impressed to see this thread is so 'alive' since 2006......
btw, i came across to GSE from an acquaintance of mine. Currently, I'm a management trainee at a manufacturing company & thinking of quitting this current job coz of someone. My acquaintance smhow recommend me this job but surprisingly to know her salary is that low. Previously i have a few months working experience with citibank (call center) so i wonder if i can hv other job application that's relevant other than call center in hsbc? however, i'm from science background.... |

QUOTE(khenhh @ Jul 20 2009, 04:38 AM) Erm .... Honestly .... I did some research for "outsourcing" recently and I found out that ... (Below is the version using my own language, I am lazy to quote the author/publisher). wow...so much so....only now i know this thread attract soooo many ppl..."---- A set amount of money will be assigned for the main purpose of outsourced agents, ie; USD 2mil p.a is assigned for 100 employees, hence the Agent will make a profit/cut of USD 500k p.a. ------" So, in this case, an employee's pay could reach RM 3.5 - 4000 (USD 1k+) per month, but because they want to cut cost, and generate revenue ... Hence they pay you the "Malaysian" pay of Rm 2000 = 700 USD and they will minus off the 300 USD as their Revenue or "operational cost" as they would put it. So yeah, you're getting paid less than what you're actually suppose to receive ... sad right? T_T; But, you know what? People out there are living on the streets, begging for money, and even fighting over money ... if you have a job, stay with it, and if you have a bad/lousy/sadistic supervisor/manager .... just work things out with him/her I know a team leader pay in a call center used to be RM 2,400 (borderline for Income tax already) and additional RM 400 Team leader allowance + Attendance Allowance 200 = Rm 2400 + 600 = Rm 3k per month. not inclusive of OT Let me tell you how much a Janitor is getting paid for cleaning up your SH!T ... RM 600~ 800 !! So, Enjoy ~ Added on July 20, 2009, 4:42 amOh, it's 4.38 am .... I have an Interview at 10 am in Bursa building also !!! .. lol I woke up early .... used to work in Call center for UK .. lol +_+; can't sleep !!! Oh, anyone have any Peanuts idea about this position? Associate, COBAM .... it's a GSE also, but ASSOCIATE ?? isn't that fro Freshies ? The only Associate besides the one i mentioned, was the Associate Director ... who does God knows wat ... I shall, post about the interview later wait .. i don't have one yet ... damn .... Added on July 20, 2009, 9:24 pmOk ! I just did the Interview this Morning in Bursa Malaysia Building ... I was there at 8 am to avoid the traffic jam, waiting for 2 hours until 10 am to go up to lvl 6, went up to lvl 6 at 10 am found out that anyone could actually just walk in at anytime, Do the security checks and etc ..... (Very unprofessional, they guards were not the "friendliest" I would have thought ... and their drawer were a mess) noticed there were roughly 30 ~ 40 candidates went into a pantry area where we were told to wait for our turn (time 10.15am) waited ... waited waited ... 10.50am waited ... waited ... waited... 11.30am waited ... waited 12 pm waited .... waited 12.45pm Finally ! someone calls my name and a few other candidates ... was told to complete a "test paper" within 30 minutes and hand it in at 1.30pm. Did the test question, Question 1, #$^$#@$^%$#$%#$% << Cannot let you know Completed in 15 minutes, question comprise of 10 maths, 10 English questions. 1.30pm hurray ~~~ .... no body came to collect ... 1.45pm ... still no one ... 2 pm ... still no one ... 2.10pm the HR girl came to collect the papers and documents and told us "Ok, we will mark your paper and contact you within this week for a second interview if you passed. We can't conduct it now, as you may have to wait till midnight for your turn. Thank you for waiting." 2.15pm I was extremely mad .... WHY? FIRST, if you were going to do this, judging that HSS or HRDM ... what ever you call it is as "professional" as you may think they are, they should have known from the amount of candidates, it wasn't possible to interview everyone at the first place in one go. Hence, you should ask all candidates to gather in a room and do the test question before hand and tell them "Thank you for coming, please do the paper and we will contact you within this week if you're qualified." END OF STORY and you can go home happily ~ but no, they made me wait ... I was there since 8 so ... 8 to 2pm ... 6 HOURS .... if they had only let the candidates know that they could enter at anytime, I wouldn't have been so stupid as to wait till 10 am .... and they should have just told the candidates to do the test immediately after the security checks to save time and effort. in Conclusion, WTF????????????????? you call this Management? hello, i know some school children from the Sekolah Kanak Kanak Kurang Upaya who can Organize an Interview much more effectively than this! I am a senior executive, and have been working in the Banking line for more than 2 years. I'm surprised ... 2.30pm ... went to the guard post to get back my stuff ... one of the candidate a girl tried to cut que ... just walked infront of me as if I don't exist ... I stared at her with Disgust and even showed her the "WTF" look ... Hello, people have some courtesy lah, when people are queing up, don't just step infront of others and act as if your bloody grandfather owns the place. 2.40pm Enjoyed my Large Spicey Chicken Mc Deluxe in Mc D gurl, u have the experience, y waste ur time applying this position? or am i too late?? Added on October 30, 2009, 2:13 am QUOTE(PenangLaksa @ Oct 13 2009, 10:52 PM) You'll get the job so long as you can speak reasonably good English. And you must say the right things of course during the interview yea, totally 200% agree...u will get the job...definitely...Added on October 30, 2009, 2:14 am QUOTE(babymiki @ Oct 8 2009, 01:44 AM) dis is referring to cyber or klse?Added on October 30, 2009, 2:18 amanyone can give me opinion why there are sooooo many indians in HDPM? HSBC stands for HongKong & Shanghai Bank, but majority working there is indian..(referring to the back office) This post has been edited by cherieaplepie: Oct 30 2009, 02:18 AM |
