QUOTE(Slyp @ Nov 14 2014, 12:58 PM)
Just got off from a phone interview and assessment is next Thursday. Applied for Global  Banking & Markets Executive, is it true that the working hours may be at night during weekends? Anyone got any idea about the job description for this position?
*
See what country you are attached to.

And most of the time, it's a 5 working day thing, so if you gotta work for weekends, you might have another 2 days off to compensate.

But generally la, which bank operate in the weekends? I would want to change my bank to that bank for the extra day.

QUOTE(CxD @ Nov 14 2014, 07:01 PM)
Good evening everyone! May I know how long does HSBC takes to reply candidate? I went for the interview on 30 October (Thursday) but still haven't get any call or email yet.
*
If you read back, some got their offer immediate, some got it the next week, and some got it the next 2 weeks.

Just chillax and call back after 1 week. If you heard nothing by then, time to apply for another job.

Thanks for the reply. But have you got any idea what are the job scopes for this particular position? Or anyone?
*
If you bother to read back few pages ago, I think it was mentioned that every department has different roles / Task / responsibility so it differs from 1 team to another.

Therefore, it's a little hard to tell you what you are gonna do until you get to know what team you would be working in.

So can I safely say that if I manage to tahan so long here, means I can tahan almost any other job outside? haha
*
More like, if you can survive a job as an Auditor, you probably can survive any other job outside.

This HSBC job, I think still pretty moderate la.

Can see my friend go drinking on weekdays after work lagi and still able to chillax on the weekends.

Go in and learn. And if you feel like you reached your limit, go out and see the world.

Good news!

I'm so grateful that I have been offered as Global Support Executive with HSBC Electronic Data Processing (M) Sdn Bhd.

I will be going to collect my offer letter next week.

P.s. They actually took 1 month plus to reply my job application status. But for I can say, have faith in the universe and be very clear with what you want and the universe will delivery to you every time. If you believe that you can then you can.

But to be really honest, for a diploma holder for eg, HSBC Global Support pays one of the best, sadly whistling.gif

But for degree holders, maybe not 1 of the best pay already la laugh.gif

Hey guys,

I just got an offer for Associate for Global Banking & Markets under Equities for the UK division. How is this any different from the GSE positions you all are talking about?

I'm a freshie and they offered 2.6k.
*
Maybe they rebrand it to something new already?

2.6k sounds pretty decent since you start work at 4 and end at 1-ish....

QUOTE(amal90 @ Dec 22 2014, 02:08 PM)
so meaning that, between the time from they callled for confirmation and the time they email to collect the offer letter may takes up to a month or? im just wondering the duration of the calling for confirmation and the time they email to collect those offer letter.
*
Usually it's around 1-2 weeks nia if they confirmed to hire you.

Please follow up if you don't get any news

WHAT?! They told me its from 3-10?

There still are GSE positions, this is BO. Is there a difference?
*
Same thing.

GSE are back office anyways.

And you won't get to leave at 12. It's nornally 1-2 am before you can leave tongue.gif

A reason why I did not sign the offer for this job. At least I go back at 6 with more money laugh.gif

I attended the HSBC interview for the position of securities services on 27 Nov 14 at Menara Bursa. I have passed all the stages until the last stage which i believe with the manager/team leader (after finished with HR)

I guess didn't get the job since i've not heard from them till now. But I still saw them posting the same job ads on Jobstreet for the Global Support and for the Securities service position. Definitely will re-apply in the future.

Anyone know how long is the duration for you to re-apply the same post after you have attended the previous interview?
*
They are permanently hiring due to high turnover.

And it's 3 months from your last application date.

QUOTE(Ellie888 @ Dec 29 2014, 09:56 PM)
Btw amal, have HSBC call you yet for the result from your interview??? Still waiting is it?
*
Usually after 1 week no news, means you're not getting the job d

Probably I've failed the last stage or they have someone better for the position. Will give a call to check(if they answer la)

Definitely will re-apply. Not sure why i'm so keen/almost dying to get this position. Haha..
*
Apply for others as well at the same time laugh.gif

This position many opening one la, they offered me twice I think after my interview with them.

But the high turnover rate is really a turnoff and going back at 2 am ( despite the fact I kinda like it ) gets irritating.

Not to mention that are some faces I'd rather not see again there laugh.gif

Thanks.
*
Have you call them yet?

That's the fastest way to get an answer if you are waiting for a job offer.

If there's no answer, assume it's no longer viable.

Hai Guys, i have a few question abut this job, really appreciated if you guys can help to clarify on this questions i have

i got the Job as Global Banking and Market exec at menara bursa. Start Date is 29 Jan, collect offer letter at cyberjaya on the 28 Jan

1) when will i know what division i will be attached to? (Working Hours)

2) What is the basic salary? (on the phone that day he said will be roughhly around 2.6k)

3) are there any allowances given?

4) is there any bus service provided, for example if i get uk time so the working hours will be 4pm till 1am, so is there any bus service from menara bursa to shah alam. cause i was thinking to go by train and comeback by bus, cause i read through this forum , they said bus is only provided after 11PM? is it true
*
1. After you are done with your basic training ( orientation or whatever they call it nowadays )

2. 2.6k before EPF/Socso and etc

3. If you have language skills like French, Spanish, etc, maybe got. Or if you work graveyard shift, got some extra as well.

4. Bus will be provided after 12 am, I think. But as to Shah Alam, that one you gotta ask HSBC HR la.

1 am finish work, don't expect to leave until 2~3 am once you are pass the 6 months probation mark.

My friend is there for almost 3 years now and never leave sharp at 1am after 6 months probation laugh.gif

Still getting peanuts for salary as well whistling.gif

QUOTE(Ellie888 @ Jan 7 2015, 08:09 PM)
Finally after over a month I've been waiting, the HR called me yesterday and mentioned about the job offer. But she mentioned they only be able to confirmed the offer after they done background check.

Did you guys been through the same process(get a call to inform they will do the background check?). If does, how long it take after the background check till the confirmation?

Thanks!
*
It's mere formality.

They wanna make a check with credit agency to see whether you are in any position that could threaten your solvency.

wahh that means after the induction training then only i will know my working hours.. why so noob one..  sad.gif

so on the 29 and 30 will be the training, that will be normal hours right?

and another thing on the 12 and 13 feb need to take leave, cause its a family wedding and need to attend as i will be the best man, can i get leave?? during interview i have told them, they said that can be arranged.... seriously very worried about this.. hahaha
*
Can be arranged but whether they approve or not, that's a different story....

According to the application form, you're not actually allowed to take leave for the 1st six month unless it's epic urgent ( disclaimer : I filled up those forms almost 1 year ago? )

So keep your finger crossed.

Beside Feb 12-13 so near to CNY, quite hard to get leaves one....

QUOTE(Bumbee1989 @ Jan 8 2015, 07:03 PM)
I think it depends though because the hiring managers told me i would be in equities straight away.

Good for you then biggrin.gif

but "do you need to take leave during the first 6 months"

Really have to tell the line manager during the first day, cause thee booking all has been made further more i will be the best man thats why need to attend, if not i wont go oso, speech all i made d.. haiyaaa, really hope can get leave

I am telling you what is SOP la. Maybe can negotiate or what one.

Shows that you don't read when you fill up your job application, which shows how dangerous it is to be conned to sign something tongue.gif

Haha im not sure myself that cant take leave during first six months. But maybe depends on dept manager? Cause me and my friends new hire all can apply leave and we got leave to clear (compulsory) every 3mnths.

Btw wanna ask, if quit this job within 3-6mnths, is it advisable to put this job in resume?or would you guys advice to stay in this job for more than half a year before quit only can put in resume? I feel like no future in hdpm haha
*
It's written in the job application form, if I am not mistaken.

There got ask, so you require leaves for the 1st 6 months?

The "call" leave aka compulsory leave must clear one, just see when and if your boss allows you to take it or not nia?

Usually, if you quit a job within a year, I won't put it in my resume unless it's my 1st job.

Having too much short term employment would make people to think that you're a job hopper or worse.

Future in HDPM depends on you actually.... Whether you want to climb the ladder to become AM, then Manager and further along the way.

It's up to you honestly but to be blunt, back end bank processing only can go so far.

Maybe coz they have enough people already for that department and decided to counter offer based on his skills?

It happens sometimes, thou it's not really ethical laugh.gif

But HDPM got Credit Card Processing center wor? sweat.gif
