Yupp it did. When I had 10Mbps I got about 1.1-1.2MB/s download speed stable.
I'm using Archer C1200, upgraded from a shitty old router last October.
Instead of IDM, just wondering if you know anything about something like local cache to download from, which will allow us to download at max and highest speed.
I was told by a friend from overseas about it. Even when I download games from Steam (through Singaporean servers) I still get about only 7MB/s.
*
Just to be sure, can you even get consistent 100Mbps on speedtest.net or tm's version of speedtest?

The only thing I tested was different cables, still same result.
This is what the Turbo 100Mbps gets me at 5:41pm (I tested in Ookla first, then followed by TM):

tm technicians were supposed to visit my house yesterday but they didn't show or call, will they automatically reschedule or is there a number I'm supposed to call?
*
login to your unifi portal
check the 'My Activity'
look for the technical report
the technician's number should be there
you can even track their live location, there is a map there

...if the technical report was keyed in properly by the tm staff, that is.

Here:

It went to 600Mbps-ish when doing this recording but usually stable around 580Mbps-ish.
*
bro, from my experience using 800Mbps, unlike on 100Mbps or 500Mbps (tested at my FIL place), TM's server is not reliable enough to give 800Mbps consistently
Try with other servers as well.

For my location, if TM's server doesn't reach 800Mbps, a test on any 1 of the following will reach max speed
- InNet
- Extreme Broadband
- Macrolynx

There are 1 or 2 more that I can't remember, but these 3 are the ones I always use

edit:
forgot to mention, whenever I can't get 800Mbps on TM's server,
most of the time it's between 500Mbps++ to 600Mbps++

can all of those who did not get their actual turbo upgrade to complain to MCMC?

they promise to upgrade x10, but now downgrade people because our package is too cheap?

what about those paying above RM250 for 100mbps? they dint even get discount for that.
*
I was on RM309 for 100Mbps. (RM279 for internet RM30 for standard tv pack)
Got RM20 discount from the original RM329 due to TM's deceptive early bird promo.

After going to TM Point and failed to get a discount, then reported to MCMC in September shortly before TM launched 100Mbps@RM129, I got the price reduced to RM229, and eventually turboed faster than originally scheduled.

Took more than a month though, had to experience TM closing the report twice and marked it as solved, more follow up calls, emails and such before TM finally agreed.. which was around 5 days before I'm due to return the BTU to complete the account termination process.

*prices stated not tax inclusive.
*I specifically said in my report that I'm not even asking for RM189 with ultimate like those RYE2017 customers.

I asked live chat and cs said my case closed and I need to pay RM53 to send technician over? They don't give equipment anymore? What is this? The tmpoint staff was the one that said my equip cannot support 100mbps and they even showed me the appointment time.
*
If you are absolutely sure that the problem is from TM's side, you have a case against them... I suggest you contact them again and tell them that you are certain your BTU doesn't support turbo speed and it was their own staff who told you so.. plus mention that you will report to MCMC if they refuse to change your BTU without charging.
Normally that site visit charge applies if the issue is non TM related, like a damaged TM router that is out of warranty, own device cannot support gigabit and etc.

I posted this before - when 1 of my accounts got the turbo upgrade, TM technician called me to schedule an appointment to replace the BTU. I asked if it's chargeable and he said no, unless I want a new router from TM; either buy it for RMxxx or renew contract to get it for free.
After that call, there was a technical report on my unifi portal under the my activity section. The technician's number and name was there, as well as his live location.. I think they use google maps? He didn't immediately close the report after changing my BTU, I could see where he was going after that on the map laugh.gif

The bill has arrived and indeed there was no charge for that account.

fruitie I recall TM technician visited your address to troubleshoot the turbo connection issue and you didn't get charged for site visit right since the problem was the BTU?

Staggering? The ones who are still paying RM329 for 100Mbps say "hold my beer!" LOL
then there are the rare ones with ultimate pack as well.. RM359! xD
Best thing to do is downgrade to RM129 package

Hi All, I am currently on a 2 year contract promo, paying 239 for 100mbps that was just upgraded to 800mbps. After the contract ends, my price as per original will turn to 329 for 100 mbps.

My question is, in line with our new packages and upgrades and pricing schemes by the gov, will the 329 be in effect after my contract ends?

If yes is there anyway I can get a cheaper package but still maintain the 800mbps? I know of people here that are paying 199 or 200+ for 800mbps so I think its super unfair and stupid.

Anything i can do now or wait till then?

Thank you all for your time.
*
eh... haven't heard of such package before for 100/800 Mbps.. bloody TM and their never ending variable pricing laugh.gif ranting.gif
When did you sign up for 100Mbps@RM239 (back to RM329 after contract ends)? Or was it offered to you?

Everyone please go read #12.

They have been changing things. That was not there before.
*
bloody hell.. no wonder the newer posts by other members say the same thing about the price being RM159 after 2 years
then what about those who are already on Ultimate pack? (RM159)
...back to RM189 after 2 years?

Just installed UNIFI 100Mbps. Speed Test Showing 100Mbps. But When Downloading using IDM speed is 100-150 kbps.  Which Is Way lower then my Digi Broadband 10 Mbps that IDM speed can reach 1-1.5 Mbps.

IS TM CHEATING SPEED TEST?
*
nope
try downloading from other sources
a good server to try is nvidia's; download drivers from there
when I was on 100MBps it was easy to get max speed when downloading from there

Now can submit termination from the portal as well as downgrade even for turbo accounts

Strange that the 100Mbps@RM129 package is now called 'unifi lite 100Mbps' though hmm.gif

After turbo upgrade my bill has no more RM20 monthly discount as what I signed was Promo RM20 discount 24 months.
*
No more RM20 discount on your final bill or just on the unifi portal?
If you have received the bill, is it the same amount as before?
The only perpetual RM20 discount that I am aware of is for the early bird 100MBps promo when it was first launched back in 2016

Just a quick update for UniFi Pro 100 Mbps downgrade to UniFi Lite 100 Mbps ( Last time i post got problems )

TM Seems to be have system problem

The second bill generated still at RM 2xx

Walkin to TM point again they said it the upgrade was processed late due to system problem

They ask me to write in rebate request ( took 14 days to process )

Got the new bills and everything is okay now

*
Eh? I believe a few people who downgrade to the new 100Mbps package reported they can still use their hypptv box... TM changed their policy again? rclxub.gif hmm.gif

wah... better to dispute it then sweat.gif

QUOTE(mylinear @ Nov 20 2018, 10:56 AM)
Streamyx has been around for many years. The price for it has changed very little during those years. It has pretty much been around RM110 for 1M from the early days till now. Are you saying that say in the past 10-15 years, they cannot even reduce Streamyx prices with all the profit they have made in those years? Forget about 25 - 50% reduction. They cannot even have given a RM10 reduction? They were making profit. It is not like they were making losses or just break even all these years.

Fibre network has costs too. Why is it that they can now reduce the prices of fibre packages? And not just by RM10. Imagine the 100M package advertised at RM329 just a couple of years ago is now at RM129. What has changed in the costs? Or was the prices much higher than it should have been in the first place?

the problem is.. the downloads will be completed before the connection can even try to reach max speed laugh.gif
