Yup,using RB750Gr3 as main router.
Server is OVH Cloud Singapore
IPv4
(I had disable IPv6 function on my desktop, but IPv6 function on RB750Gr3 still enable, but my pc will not use it)

Eh? Normally MTU value is same as MRU value.
How come yours are different?

Bro, I updated the latest Beta firmware. Still got the same results.

And I know where the problem is now - CPU.

My laptop is Sandy Bridge, I checked the CPU usage during speedtest - 100%.  So the bottleneck here is the CPU  nod.gif  ohmy.gif .  The CPU just cannot handle more than 250mbps traffic over the LAN.

Tested with Iphone XR  - 500mbps over wifi.

So it's CPU.
*
Sandy Bridge can handle 1Gbps just fine.....with latest microcode installed. whistling.gif
Otherwise, please disable OS spectre mitigation.

Erm my deaktop is a very old core 2 quad cpu. Dunno is this support up to 800mbps unifi speed ? But the gigalan port is built in on the board and im wit gigalan now

Any ideal ?
*
Core 2 quad? Model?
Then it can't be microcode issue.

Possible temperature issue resulting in clock throttling?

Correct FSB and multiplier? ---> Cause there were few users with Core 2......'misconfigured' FSB and multiplier....the best part ---> they never realised it. doh.gif Example, one user top out his clock at 2.2Ghz (200 Quad pumped FSB ) X 11....while his cpu can support 3.0ghz (266 x11)....and he/she had been using it since 2008 until few weeks ago......

My laptop is Sandy bridge  i5-2410M.  Could the CPU be bottleneck?

The loading screen for Speednet test stuttered when I ran the test. Could see some skip frames. The maximum I got was 450mbps on LAN.

Could be hardware limitation
*
Microcode issue is just one of the possibility, the other being cpu throttling caused by high temperature.

The simplest method to test if it is microcode issue on win10 = reboot into safe mode and run speedtest.

If you wanna disable Spectre Variant 2, look here https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/40...rabilities-prot

Uninstalled Avast, and updated the LAN driver.

LAN speed hovers around 450mbps max for local TM KL server.  Not sure if my laptop is the bottleneck or speed issue by Unifi?

hmm.gif
*
Look here. Please disable spectre 2 mitigation on your windows 10. I had given you the link before.
Then download HWMonitor and check your CPU temperature and CPU clock.

C'mon dude how much do you expect your dinosaur age CPU to perform?
*
Core 2 = doesn't have microcode* penalty issue on win10/7.

QUOTE(sgpdsmss @ Jan 2 2019, 02:32 PM)
really the CPU problem ? i don't know the Internet speed got related to CPU too ...haha....
*
Check if your CPU E8400 can sustain max 3.0ghz DURING speedtest.

There are cases where CPU multiplier and FSB are not configured correctly or clock throttling caused by high temperature (cause the heatsink+fan never be cleaned and thermal paste dried up)

What your ethernet chip model? Is it the built-in chipset? It could be your Ethernet PHY is connected internally using PCI (not PCIe) to the chipset. PCI bandwidth is much much slower that PCIe. Though Ethernet -> Router connection is in Gigabit, Ethernet -> Chipset bandwidth might be slower and thus becomes the bottleneck.

A simple method to check if your is to acquire a PCIe x1 Gigabit Ethernet Card and use that instead of your current Ethernet jack. Other than that, try to find a laptop/PC with a proven Gigabit ethernet.
*
confused.gif
Ancient standard PCI has dedicated max bandwidth of 133 MB/s aka 1Gbps.

realtech chip...onboard network chip
thanks..

Reboot into safe mode and run speedtest again. nod.gif

If there is huge improvement in speedtest, you probably have antivirus or firewall limiting your speed.

Then again, that cursed 42.189.x.x ip range eh..... sweat.gif

Sigh, whoever running TM network must be arrogant indeed.

Instead of rerouting the traffic, TM insists on customers 'endure' the connectivity issue while they fix the broken cable. =.=
If the cable is down for multiple days, then what? Ask users to endure and wait it out?

So TM tester came today but I was at office so I let my maid keep an eye on them.
Then they called me and said they're getting 860Mbps (Dload) and 205Mbps(Upload).
They're using an i5 laptop.
In summary they claimed that my router and BTU is working perfectly. So there's go my RM53.

Came home and tested on my i7 laptop and only able to get 560Mbps (Dload) and 214Mbps (Upload)

Didn't feel like downgrading though.
Maybe the speed can improve a bit buy upgrading to performance router.

Begin with updating your cpu microcode from microsoft.

What is your win10 version and CPU model?

Well, either way, my condolences, microsoft hasn't release latest Intel microcode version for Kaby Lake S (I5-7400) yet.

Since win10 auto update is turned on, you have the problematic microcode version installed.
Consider disabling Spectre mitigation via registry.

The microcode slows the speed? I am getting this with Telekom server which should provide the optimum speed. Is fine with me. [attachmentid=10155137]
*
Sure it will slow down the speed....however, your I5-7400 CPU frequency is high enough to 'brute' force it.......
Since I kinda lazy to explain it, please visit the other thread, I posted some stuff there before https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4649008 , just scroll down.

If not for sure they can close shop n fly kite now.

Bye bye tmnut

Same, I am waiting for lower price too. Maybe RM129 or 139 for 500Mbps seeing that CityBroadband is offering RM99 for 100Mbps.....

Meanwhile.....sabah electricity provider.....has no 'proper' fibre backbone...... dry.gif

Agree....
We don't even have the option of removing that Hypptv RM30.....

If TM provides RM129 - 30 (remove this crap) = RM99 for barebone fibre 100Mbps internet....I believe most people would be satisfied.....
