Fark, my other house BTU is faulty. Probably power adapter damage. Neighbours are noisy again.

Should I bring the BTU to TMPoint or contact TM and request them to send it?

Why your power adaptor in faulty, your neighbour make noise ? Actually you make noise because yours not theirs. Your adaptor
*
Cause I am sharing the line with them? Neighbours are complaining why cannot online.
And my sister screenshot the BTU not lighting up even though power strip switch LED is on?

I am not at the other house now. cool2.gif

So....bring the BTU directly to TMPoint or make a report and ask TM to come over? blink.gif

No spare 12V DC PSU? Sure it's just the PSU and not the BTU?

I'm lazy so I'll just call and wait for them to come over.
*
No spare 12V DC PSU, plus one of the BTU LED had malfunction ( the led light is very dim compared to the other LEDs) for almost a year now.

Make a report and call them eh?
Sound good, will make the report through live chat.
I can only hope TM technician can come tomorrow.

IT noob here...so bear with me
currently on 500Mbps plan...

my current setup on modem and router:
alcatel 240G BTU
ac86u
- connected via ugreen cat7 cable

my current desktop setup:
i3-8100 cpu
tp-link t9uh wifi adapter
win10 1809 which was just updated recently
updated usb 3.0 drive
disabled mitigations for CVE-2017-5715 (Spectre Variant 2) and CVE-2017-5754 (Meltdown)

LAN test:
connect cat6 / cat5e cable from router to desktop, speed test on both ookla & tm only managed to get 300+ Mbps DL

Wifi test:
speed test on both ookla & tm only managed to get 200-300 Mbps DL even though full 5Ghz bar

anything else i can do here to improve the DL speed ?

thanks
*
AC86U?
Go to Advanced ---> LAN ---> Switch Control. Check if the NAT Acceleration is set to Auto and the yellow wording next to it is displaying "CTF (Cut Through Forwarding) is enabled".

I3-8100 with Win10 1809*?
K, install this http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Se....aspx?q=4465065
2018-10 Update for Windows Server 2019 (1809) for x64-based Systems (KB4465065)
Cause WIN10 has tendency to automatically re-enabled spectre + meltdown mitigations after "windows update" dry.gif
So, installing the optimized/latest microcode is a better solution. KB4465065 has to be installed manually!
Reboot required.

After that....test again.....via wired....

Malaysia meets 25% broadband price reduction target — Gobind

PETALING JAYA (Jan 10): Malaysia has succeeded to meet its target of cutting broadband prices by 25% last year, says Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

“The target was successful as we have seen most of the telecommunication companies (telcos) including Celcom Axiata Bhd, Maxis Bhd and TIME dotCom Bhd, dropping their broadband prices by 30% to 65%,” he told reporters at the launch of Celcom's new headquarters here today.

"We have achieved the target set for 2018 and have over-achieved in certain aspects,” he added.

Gobind said the government’s push to deliver on its promise for better internet speeds at cheaper prices, is to get more telcos involved, particularly with regards to infrastructure.

The minister also noted that the government’s recent high-speed broadband project in Jasin, Melaka has yielded good results.

"We can see that with the government’s push for more quality broadband, this new project of ours with Tenaga Nasional Bhd will be able to wire up many homes over a quick period of time and it yielded really good results with 100 megabytes of internet speed and in the post office, 1 gigabyte,” he added.

When asked if he was concerned about multiple internet service providers using TNB’s fibre infrastructure in the pilot project in Jasin, Gobind said by having more internet service providers using existing infrastructure, consumers can get cheaper and faster internet, as well as bypass red tape when it comes to the development of new infrastructure.

“We are looking at it from a very practical perspective. What we have established now is that you can use existing infrastructure, poles, pull fibre very quickly and deliver quality internet to not just urban areas, but also to the rural and remote areas," he added.

Dude, how about price for EXISTING unifi fibre users? There is no price reduction aside from turbo speed.

Isn't getting 10x speed for the same price already considered as price reduction ?

Ask all the people in Malaysia and see if they agree with your statement....... laugh.gif

For one, I don't agree.

Plus, how about those without speed upgrade but still paying same price? Unifi VDSL?

I can't find the CTF...

after installing KB4465065...speed only improved slightly

Maybe AC86U supports different form of NAT Acceleration as SzeMeng76 said?

Any weird antivirus or firewall?
Can you get 500Mbps when running I3-8100 via wired in safe mode?

Also, please check your CPU temperature and CPU clock rate during the speedtest. There are few people with improper cpu cooling....(eg, 5 years never clean the fan+heatsink+repaste, broken CPU fan pins resulted in 'suboptimal' contact between cpu and cooler, improper installation of cpu cooler resulting in loose contact)

Then, there are cases where few people had wrong max cpu multipliers configured...... doh.gif

perhaps...i can't make that option appear also since i am IT noob

i have kapersky 2018, disabled it while doing speed test
win10 in safe mode also can't reach 500Mbps...funny

CPU usage while speed testing is 50%+

btw...my cpu was newly assembled in june 2018

How about CPU temperature and cpu clock rate during speedtest?
Do I have to ask it over and over? =.=

Pelan Strategik KKMM 2019-2023 diperkenal
