Guys, Bezza using Idle Stop Start System requires a high amp battery right?

I just got notified during maintenance yesterday that it was high time to change the car battery already and I got a shock when they told me that the cost of the battery is about RM410.

After searching in this thread, I guess there's nothing to be surprised about it since the battery used for Bezza Advance is different from the rest of the variants due to the Idle Stop Start system.

May I know what are the recommendations? Should I just get the battery from Perodua service center or should I source outside? Not even sure what brand I'm supposed to get too

The staff there told me that I musn't simply use any batteries, the rating of the battery must be at least CCA 410 to perform optimally.

From the previous threads, I only found out that heero yu shared the battery that was used by his friend
https://www.borneobattery.com.my/battery_type/iss/

Hope to know more advice from you guys, thank you.

EDIT : did some further digging on batteries

Guys, can anyone let me know the colour code for Bezza Titanium Silver?

My car got scratched 😫, need to repaint using repair pen. I need to get the correct colour to match with my car.

search m42 battery on shopee/lazada u will see more choices. seem like with EFB last longer?

But a lot of expert said cause more damage to engine is a myth.

https://practicalmotoring.com.au/car-advice...-damage-engine/

EFB battery is more expensive by 20-30% but it was designed to have better cycle and will last even longer than normal battery you have. Normal battery life span is 1.5 to 2 yrs while EFB battery is 2.5 to 3 yrs.

M42 is the size code for EFB (enhanced flooded battery). And yeah, EFB last longer because if it designed such way, of course, also pays more for that.

Oh, will check it out and do some price check. Do you happen to know the size of the battery? Length, width and height

Good to know, will consider this. Hopefully the battery can still last a week or so.

Perodua battery is Yuasa Eco (seems to be make from Japan from what i read in internet)
Another brand is Varta M42 from Germany.
While online is cheaper, there is a concern is there any special SOP to replace the battery as compared to non Eco car.

Varta is reputable brand, they majority battery maker for high power cochlear Implant use. And it's the only one for cochlear Implant, other brand can't compete with varta.

now that u mention that, I wonder if we can buy the battery and then ask the perodua service center to install for us. if there's some sort of configuration that they need to do that we can't do by ourselves, then it's better to let them do it. can anyone clarify that?

Varta is more affordable compared to Yuasa though. Which one is better, I'm not sure.

I believe bezza's OEM battery should be made in Malaysia. As this is an OEM battery, yuasa malaysia will not able to show it in their catalogue. Probably they can't sell it aftermarket as it is a conflict of interest. Try search Yuasa YBX7054 then you will able to see exactly the same thing like on our bezza.

As for the SOP, it didn't mention on the owners manual about any precautionary steps though. Since bezza is just a simple car with not much electronics on board, it's still ok, i mean i think. It's just a car with start stop function, nothing much more special than other cars though.

Hmm.. I thought is this Yuasa Eco but further reading the is 55B20L.. not 40

As for Yuasa YBX7054 the Cold Cranking Performance (Amps) EN1: 340.. Thought the OEM support to have 400++

PS: Anyone have the soft copy of the user manual ?

i once changed a battery in a battery shop..
before they disconect the cables to my old battery, they attached another battery to the cables, then disconnect from the old battery..
so there was always a charge to the car..
that way, i didnt have to reset my radio stations etc...
and the ECU, TCU, etc didnt have to go into a reset mode...

not sure if its necessary or not, but i got my car back with everything electronic, clock, player, etc, intact...

but, dont take my word for absolute truth, just sayin what i saw..

i also have the same question as yours when people mention about the CCA requirement for Bezza. if you asking for the user manual to search for the CCA, just forget about it.

Seem to see your name before haha

Body kit
Leather Seat ( semi real I believe )
AntiRollBar at rear ( not very sure )
ESC etc.... ( Stability control which heard aid in handling , feel more stable )
TouchScreenHeadUnit
BiggerSpeaker total 4
Start-Stop
RegenarativeBraking ( not sure if you will feel different in driving )
Edit:
Steering leather wrap with control
Reverse camera
Different design 15inch rim
SideMirror can electric control retract

Should be no more

Advance has high satisfactory owner from my observation , but priced at 51k for a A segment car .....
( The bigger segment are wider )
Picanto A , Myvi B , Civic C , Camry D

I won't spend so much when there are other choices for the same price

Myvi 4 airbag esc
Iriz/persona ESC across variant

The best example will be compare saga highest variant to bezza price

The advantages I can see will be the most reliable sedan at this price , no more than that. ( My car has various small problem though)

Do not buy car for grab , July are new laws started implement , alot might quit and increase cost etc... And we driver income has been reducing time by time

I'm not comparing Bezza with other car manufacturer. I already survey, this Bezza gives me fuel saving, high resale value & of coz is Perodua. Well been looking for a backup car n my style is sell off a car after 1 2 years.

Your explanation is good but still haven't help me whether to get X or advance. Appreciate others if can give me your honest opinion. X or advance....Tq tq

Most SC will not touch parts not bought from them. I might be wrong though.

This is a good practise done by the shop. I rather lose my settings than the shop keep running the engine when they disconnect the battery.
