and try to set to the lowest divider as u can as u want to test ur proc maximum capabilities....

MY RAM can run at 888Mhz MAX... I need CPU/7 to be able to get 3.1Ghz and 884MHz ... BUT can't get over 265HTT at all..

Only able to get over when using CPU/8 - 690mhz only .. so low..

coz brisby 4000 it should be 10.5x200 = 2.1 default ...

can stated more detail ?

Yeah... I know must lower my multiple.. x9.0multiplier + 533 Divider I can get CPU/7 BUT I can't get over 265HTT with this settings..

That's the weird thing.. Idon't see 9.5 or 10.5 multiplier in BIOS screen ..

Anyway, soulfly.. Please update me into the AM2 thread first..

I own a piece of Abit AN52S mainboard, CPu is AMD X2 4000+ AM2, 2X1GB Kingston 667Mhz DDR2, 8600GT GC...etc.
The HTT can't go above 225Mhz no matter how i lower the multiplier to 4 or below, add HTT, CPU, RAM, sourthbridge voltage...i also loosen the default timing of RAM 5-5-5-17-1T to 5-6-6-20-2T, useless....

Here i throw my question...Is it the OC capability is limited by chipset or just the poor mainboard overclockability? because i know X2 4000+ can jump to 2.8-3Ghz without problem...have anybody using this board to OC? if yes, then how much u can go? pls state the setting in ur BIOS too...thanks

Some board have problem with HTT .. My board can only achieve 270HTT..

Btw, have you tried using single RAM & Other slots? Your processor is Brisbane?

just mine just diffrent chipset and SLi....

try update ur bios....

loose the RAM to 5-5-5-18-2T....and lower the divider untill ur RAM run at the default speed again...

Ya, i set DDR2 to 533Mhz....Vcore?i already add to 1.45V for just 250Mhz increase of CPU clock speed, i don't think it needs more vcore...because with this vcore, the CPU already can steady reach minimum of 2.5-2.6Ghz...i don't think is the CPU limit the OC effort...

Added on October 15, 2007, 3:03 pmu just remind me about this thing...no PCI speed lock option in BIOS...only PCIE lock...sure i lock it at 100Mhz...maybe the PCI clock fail me..

ur board is remembering me to my fwen board..
sadly i not try to look into bios while he park his system at my hostel while send his PSU for RMA and just try to play oc with his 4000+ brisbane..

try to look at other setting first, dont add more vcore..

my mobo abit nf-m2s,can oc? and oc need to set a lot of stuff in the bios 1st rite?

Btw, anyone know how to make a flash drive bootable.. ? I don't have floopy disk drive.. Borrow from my fren.. Super slow and can't get into the disk at all.. ! This 90's drive really killing me..

What processor are you using?

You have to flash to latest bios which supports Ram voltage adjustable for more Oc ability...

Yap...not enough details were given previously, so here i update and give the full spec of my rig

Just read my CPU code and stepping listed by CPUz in default setting



Here is OC results, so dissappointed...



First of all, i will explain my setting in details and my conclusion on it...

1.Only alter the HTT link from 5X to 4X....no RAM timing adjust, no vcore and voltage adjust....the results are displayed above...

2.HTT link set to 4X....RAM set to DDR2 533Mhz without alter timing....no vcore and voltage adjust....the results are same...

3.HTT link set to 1X(which leads tp only 200Mhz HTT link), CPU multiplier set from X10.5 to X4, hence no CPU vcore adjust( for sure because CPU only run 800Mhz in X4)...

4.HTT link set to 4X, RAM set to DDR2 667 with timing loosen to 5-5-5-20-2T(i know is useless actually), CPU multiplier default at X10.5 with vcore added from 1.3 to 1.45V, HTT and Bridge voltage add to 1.3V from 1.2V default....

All the results above yield the same results...FSB can't go beyond 225Mhz, which only OC the CPU in small margin(from 2.1Ghz to 2.36Ghz only) and "OC" RAM into "original" 667Mhz...the vcore of CPU is not the fact in all case just considering my setting 3....so in this case i am sure neither CPU nor RAM play the limited role in OC effort....

Errmm..your ram is it plug to the nearest slot to CPU??
And i found out that you are using Command Rate 1T.
Use 2T instead to gain stability.
