I am now running 2.94GHz (280 bus speed X 10.5 cpu multiplier). I found out that whenever I increase Ram divider to 7 from 6, the system goes unstable. Why?
Current, my ram Corsair CL5 6400 Twin2x 1GB X 2 @ 490mhz, running fine (even orthosing for 8 hours), vDimm 1.95v. However, if I decrease it to 420mhz at CL5, system unstable (blue screen, or Orthos fail). I tried vDimm at 1.9 - 1.95 but same. With lower speed, supposing the vDimm can be decreased. Hard to reach 3GHz. Other spec as my sig. |

QUOTE(capriodimitri @ Aug 20 2007, 06:42 PM) I am now running 2.94GHz (280 bus speed X 10.5 cpu multiplier). I found out that whenever I increase Ram divider to 7 from 6, the system goes unstable. Why? Take a look at picture below. Try to change divider and take note of those sub timings. You will see that different divider, the sub timings different as well ( especially the MAL). Sometimes you might be able to run your ram at high frequency but once you change divider , you cannot achieve the same speed anymore. That's the reason, some sub timings are eventually too tight at certain divider.Current, my ram Corsair CL5 6400 Twin2x 1GB X 2 @ 490mhz, running fine (even orthosing for 8 hours), vDimm 1.95v. But once I reboot and change to 300x9.5 (everything else equal), cant boot. For x9.5 max I can use is 301. Higher than that it wont boot. So no choice got to use x9.Added on August 21, 2007, 2:38 ambtw nf570 can use memset? This post has been edited by slash: Aug 21 2007, 02:38 AM |

It is too tight for the particular multiplier to run at high speed. Yes, of course u can use MemTest -pWs- |
