I also believe the ideal scenario is to sell off everything to you so that you can fully utilize your fund with ease. Who doesn't want that.

The right thing to do is to report to ASN and get them to investigate all our accounts my account for suspicious activities. If there is anything illegal, refund the units and make a restricted reward to you to buy up the units for whistleblowing. Otherwise, unconditionally sell me your units. Dare to take up the challenge?

it used to be good back in 20 years ago for MNC for the share purchase .
Now , it's almost peanuts as well , thats why all anjinner have to cari side income/kangtao .

I don't think it's a bad time to be an engineer. Look on the bright side. Lots of resources online, cheap hardware to prototype, company benefits in Penang are not too bad. American ones still have ESPPs. That's 100+% IRR. Only speculative stocks give returns like that. Think most companies still have RSUs.

Left Penang 7 years ago, but I'm still working in Malaysia, writing code. Graduated almost 20 years ago as an EEE btw, so I've been through a few cycles myself.

Honestly, I think Penang has a very negative culture in the MNCs there. Not sure how it can be improved, but I hope it does get better.

Boss, I have been observing these cycles ever since many years ago, can be as long as 25 years? I myself can be considered as a pessimistic therefore I am sensitive to these data. I believe it started from electronic sector in 90's when they acquired small companies and merged. These fresh graduates or CEOs, only looking at short term profit and not looking at long term. They do not like those eastern working culture where employees can rely on company and in returns the company get some employees who served the company for their whole lives. It is very rare (it still have) that we heard someone worked for 40-50 years for a company nowadays. There are alot of complications, there is no job securities, employees themselves are not loyal unlike in the past, people tend to get their security nets etc. And from electronic sector they implement this concept in any MNC companies. Anyway, nowadays company also smart, even the CEOs won't stay long in their positions, every few years you get new bosses, new teams and new colleagues and somehow new companies. Nowadays nothing is certained, not even your hard earned cash!

I am so sad that this usefull topic that has help lots of newbie, has been thrown out from respectable Finance group into Kopitiam

I have been noticing something went really wrong for the past few days.

But I was too busy to properly read all the replies (70 of it).

This morning got to know it move to k/ and I have to admit some of the reply were way too irrelevant.

And after I re read some of the reply, yes. Irrelevant and serve no purpose. Quality of the thread had been so different back then.

Hope staff or mod can move back to Finance section for further proper discussion.
