According to my friend who went to Nu Sentral for the ASNB event:
i. Yes small booth, but understandably so since he said not much reception from the public and no need to queue
ii. Only doing offline account opening registration, no money taken. Will manually feed into system from Monday onwards via data entry
iii. Was told may take up to 1 month for account to be registered (depending on how many entries collected)
iv. Cenderahati menarik - those sling type of grocery bag with 2 brochures inside

Because of offline registration and no money is taken, potentially one could open account by saying they want Sara 2/Equity 5 and then FFK putting money into the VP and tikam FP funds instead once online account is activated hmm.gif

What are the conditions to get the PNB sling bag? Need to open a MyASNB account, at the booth in NU Sentral?

So, are the existing MyASNB members excluded from getting the PNB sling bag?

Sorry not too sure if there's any criteria, my friend's was there to sign up for account (S2 since no online registration to check for non bumi FP availability). But since response seems lukewarm they'll probably give it to you if you asked nicely/let them practice their sales pitch of E5/S2 on you

Quite hard to get ASM2 even low 3 digits. Also Maybank FPX shows Offline in the dropdown list, so M2U users take note

1 basis point = 0.01%

Poster was comparing based on ASM1 paying 6.25% dividend vs the ASM2 and ASM3 6.00% in 2018, hence 25 bps

For myself, preference is ideally 50:50 ASM1:ASM2. Simply to be exposed to 2 separate halves of the year's economic cycle - some years ASM1 will yield better (e.g. 2012, 2015, 2018), some years ASM2 will yield better (e.g. 2009, 2011, 2013).

Preference of ASM2 over ASM3 is because ASM2 is older and bigger, plus ASM3's end of financial year is only 1 month apart from ASM2. If you're real anal about splitting the year right in between, pick ASM3 which is exactly 6 months apart from ASM1.

But hey we're in the real world, where most of us are in the beggars can't be choosers position and just buy whichever fund available.

Ratio 40:60 ASM2:ASE5 is just probably packaged by the banks together with PNB.

Pros :-
i. Sure got units available.
ii. RM do everything for you, just dump money on your RM's lap. No need to waste time doing captchas all day long.

Cons :-
i. RM/bank/PNB gets a cut from the 5% sales fee (your RM probably gets 2-3%?) imposed on ASE5. That's about RM285 per 10k dumped in (4k ASM2:6k ASE5). I'm assuming all UT fund managers in Malaysia are using same formula as Public Mutual here for calculating buy in/front loading sales fee.
ii. ASE5 is variable price fund, price will fluctuate based on market condition.

End of the day, for you to consider:-
i. whether the cost of your time is worth doing captchas yourself to buy in purely ASM2/other fixed price funds
ii. are you comfortable exposing 60% of investment to variable price fund
iii. giving a cut to RM/bank/PNB and stepping on the start line with -RM285

Your pie like mine. I have asm1 n asm2 from launch. Only added asm3 last month when I found out w can top up using myasnb from this forum. Thanks guys. πŸ€—

Hello there pie buddy!

I started with ASM2 back in primary school roughly quarter century ago, remember having no idea why I was waking up early to queue up at Maybank back then to buy and topup. Oh in the early days, dividends for non bumi were distributed as cheques too.

Then a colleague of mine informed me early last year that you can buy online - that time still restricted to topping up existing fund. That's my 'queue up in front of bank' to 'captcha madness' journey.

PNB will reconsider to set up PNB REIT as Zeti mentioned they will diversify and more into their this time around as one of the strategy.
*
I'll consider buying in some if the assets include Stadium Merdeka - just a token because PNB kinda saved it from being developed and restored it (granted the AFC had a hand in crippling the developer to be as well).

Don't think they need much effort for that laugh.gif , probably all the people I come across will be shocked to learn you can still get a chance to buy ASM1/2/3 funds by spamming captchas.

Hi guys! Anybody experienced this before? Yesterday, the system was unstable. I remembered only purchased ASW RM5k once but due to the system error, it showed there is 2x RM5k ASW purchased. It is not reflected on my bank transaction yesterday. Only today then it is reflected.

Yesterday:

ASNB transaction:
i) 5k ASW
ii) 5k ASW
Remembered only manage to get 5k once because need to key in captcha

Bank transaction:
i) 5k ASW only
Today:
Bank transaction:
i) 5k ASW
ii) 5k ASW

Of course I am willing to take the other 5k ASW, but it seems I get the another 5k unit due to system error, I pressed "refresh" while the receipt is being generated and I purchased another 5k unit accidentally (only key in captcha once.) biggrin.gif

I'm seeing on Maybank - don't know why there's RM1 service charge, I bought from myasnb portal:
Apr 1 ASM <amount> purchase + RM1 service charge
Apr 1 ASM <amount> reversal + service charge reversal
Apr 1 ASM <amount> purchase + RM1 service charge
Apr 1 ASM <amount> reversal + service charge reversal
Apr 1 ASM <amount> purchase

When I go to myasnb portal it says we broke it:

Hmm...
I don't see the rm1 fee..
The transactions u post above is actually m2u top up...
In myasnb no such thing as amount reversal... Because only when u actually get the units there's transactions. No unit no transactions reversal whatsoever...
*
Ah yes, now I recalled trying via M2U app twice but failed when I was away from PC during lunch. Didn't know it will record unsuccessful attempts. Mystery solved.

is there any possibility for us to buy between 4 to 7pm as bank will be closed by then and withdrawal cant be made?
*
Got quite many times past 5pm.

Once upon a time (somewhere H1 last year 2018), I managed to fish a little past 6pm... I'm guessing they closed front door from letting people in, but don't boot the people doing captcha out. Got some fish before 6:30pm and ciao-ed.

What are your predictions for ASM2 and ASM3s dividend this year? It’s out in a few months. ASM did 5.5%

Personally I'm bracing for the prospect of 5%

Spammed around 11:30AM onwards for ASM1:
1x RM100, then OCBC FPX error after entering OneToken (does it seem like OneToken has high rate of error e.g. login SWT99999, FPX session timeout?)
1x RM100, tried OCBC again - luckily went through (12:58PM!)
