Hi all, im planning to go china for a week. Planned to go Yunnan, sichuan that area. Is 1 week enough?

My rough itinerary would be staying 4 days in yunnan and 3 days in chongqing then go chengdu. At yunnnan plan to go lijiang those places. If anyone went there before can share any worthwhile place to go.

I registered Alipay with malaysia number. Use Apps within Alipay like for Trains (scan payment) and also Didi without having china number. My roaming was Digi.
So basically you can use without a need for China number, the negative is if driver see your MY number he wont call you and will also be annoyed if cannot find you.
I did not face any real problems, just make sure you have correct pickup point.

Having an Esim (data only) doesn't make any difference with MY Sim roaming except cost. It basically gives you internet data access. nothing to do with Call function.
I did have other family member using Esim, and Alipay works the same.

Note. China telco number/esim you cannot access most social media including whatapps/insta/tictok/google suite. MY roaming sim you can.

Friends, is there any way to load up Alipay CNY in Malaysia?

I remember my tour guide mentioned about this (Joining group tour), since it's last minute planning so i just hope on didn't do any research, TnG + Digi Roaming. I noted at some point of time my Digi get no signal at all, unsure whether it's roaming problem.

For TnG, i noticed certain shop/vending machine, while scanning the QR code, it gave me error. Certain restaurant I've visited / LuckIn coffee/ KFC seems only get get the Food menu and order done through WeChat Apps. but because of WeChat Pay got terminated in Malaysia, I just go and ask physical menu and pay cash or at one time... I asked the bypasser to help me order and i Paid them.  .

WeChat is more convenient to use in China compared to Alipay. You get access to menu, discounts and special promotions (Such as B1F1).

Wechat Payment service in Malaysia is discontinued since Sept 1, 2024. Will I be able to use it when in China? Will it allow binding of CC when in China?

so purely for wechat pay only.

can't even order lurkin coffee with wechat.

You can scan and order via QR at tables and pay via WeChat.

But here's a tip. Always search via Mei Tuan to see if there's any discount. Sometimes they have 10% discount for every 100 RMB, or you can also checkout their menu package. It's more worth it and can sometime offer up to 50% off. You don't need a China number to use this.
