I was really thinking of getting this phone, upgrading from my P10 plus to a mate 20 pro. The only issue I have is that I am into gaming and the Kirin 960 on the  P10plus was a disappointment. I feel the 970 was leaps and bounds better but still fell short of the SD 845 chip. In this current economy, getting a phone is pricey and getting a phone that can last more than 2 years with good software updates is another. I hope the 980 can really deliver and be comparable to the soon to be released 855 chip.
This is why i opted for the pixel 3, even though its more expensive it might last me a max of 3 years with free sub to google photos for 3 years. Has an excellent camera but sadly a soon to be outdate SD845 chip.

What made you guys choose the Mate 20/pro over other flagships?

But.. I suddenly think.. What happened to sony and htc this year? Dead? Zero hype about their phone

btw, the super charge for Mate20 is it proprietary?
does is support Qualcomm QC?

Agree. Enough wasn't meet everyone usage. Especially malaysia only bring in one spec. 6+128 for pro model.

I am quite heavy on using phone memory....64+128 on mate 9 too. (Mate 9 is a good device....)

Well, it's definitely gimmicky, not sure if it's marketing related or not

for me anything that is free is an attractive gift.   

if u really don feel like using it. just sell all the free gift, mayb like RM100 each. i am sure u will be able to cover some of your phone cost.

I hear before oppo seller tell an uncle, iphone only 3g ram, oppo phone 6g ram, we twice as good.  That's how they sell.

I am in dilemma between mate 20 and mate 20 pro. Overall looking mate 20 looks freaking good especially with the waterdrop notch, and I particularly like the back fingerprint that also serve for other purpose - like capture photo. However it is not OLED screen and don't have IP68 resistance standard - I miss the ability to wash my phone with my Xperia last time

Mate 20 pro win in every aspect except on the ugly notch, slightly smaller screen size and I am not a fan of the visual on-screen fingerprint - I think I will just keep to the facial recognition then.
