Hi Sifus,

I've been using Unifi for many, many years and especially the last few years, service has been pretty good. Never really had any outages, latency stable etc. so no complaints at my current place.
However, I'm moving to a new place soon (not a new building, maybe about 5 years old) and that building has both TIME and Unifi services available so I was thinking of giving TIME a try. I was looking around the Internet & on FB and found complaints about the slow problem resolution and some service issues (e.g speeds well below the package, long outages) that TIME users have been experiencing lately

How do you all feel about the TIME services you're using today? Are those complaints isolated incidents or is this something that's happening across the board? I really do need stable and reliable internet because you know la.. MCO and all that.. so need to work from home and unstable internet will kill the VPN

Thanks!
*
Hello, I'm using TIME 500Mbps.

Never had any problems with the line. So far still stable.
I may assist you with the registration and the services.
Been using 4 years until now.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I stay alone. Like to play game like Battlefield 1 but server from Hong Kong and Japan. Currently my house using UNIFI 30mbps but due to cheap cable only can go until 20 mbps. I tried 500 mbps TIME at my friend house. Quite smooth when playing at Japan server compare with my UNIFI. Is there any difference if I get 1Gbps TIME compare to 500 mbps TIME if play games at foreign server?
*
Hello, thanks for the interest on TIME Fibre.

As you mentioned that you tried TIME 500Mbps on your friend's house and it is smooth.
My advise to you to get 500Mbps as you are living alone.
500Mbps will be sufficient for you.

You can go for 1Gbps if you're using LAN Cable to play.
1Gbps is too much for you when you are staying alone.

Thanks.

Maybe he has exabytes of files to download every day
*
Oh, 1Gbps will be suitable if stick to LAN Cable.
If you have AX Receiving Devices and AX Router will be fine.

I'm using 500Mbps and it is enough for our family.
Mostly using Wi-Fi. 1Gbps won't be able to suit us if cannot achieve max speed via Wi-Fi.

Thanks.

Talked to one Time installer recommended by condo community.

For better wifi coverage, he recommended using repeater for bedroom farthest away.

Will those router recommended do better job or the repeater of RM100 plus?
*
Hello, for better Wi-Fi Coverage.
It is highly recommended to get an expensive router to cover the whole house.

Using Repeater will cut the speed into half if you share it via wireless.
Or pulling LAN Cable to create an access point will give a better speed than using Repeater.

Thanks.

You mean repeater will even affect whole house speed and cut it down by half?

Or just affect those farthest away rooms which are supposed to be helped by the repeater?
*
Not the whole house.

Those connected to the repeater will cut the speed.

Thanks.

Hi guys!

A little bit out of topic but did any of you managed to grab any TIME rewards on the 15th each month.

Seems like every time, the reward is fully grabbed. Even when I checked early in the morning around 3 to 4 am.

Did you guys always ready at 11:59pm on the 14th?
*
Hello, I managed to grab it last month.
You need to be ready at 11.59pm on the 14th.
And you need to grab it fast.
Even after 2-3 minutes already fully grabbed.

You can redeem one reward in each year only.
You can only redeem via TIME Apps.

Thanks.

I have been using TIME for over 3 months now. However, about once or twice a day, my wifi on my android phone will shows connected, no internet. Then I have to switch to 5ghz or vice versa to get back online. Anyone encounter such issue before? I don't see this issue with my laptop though.
*
Hello, may I know which router that you are using?

Thanks.

TIME speed is bullshit.

The speed is so inconsistent and keep disconnecting. First few times you do speedtest, u will get the max speed. After that drop to half your subscribed speed.

And it will keep disconnecting every 1 hour or so. Need to restart modem and router. And dont bother calling their CS, all BS scripted response. You want them come your house to check? They will charge you.

Unifi is so so much better. So much more stable! Will change to Unifi after contract end
*
Hello, I'm sorry to hear this.

May I know which router that you're using?
If you are using the stock router from TIME.
I may suggest you to change the router as it will improve the speed and performance.

Thanks.

hi it's me again. I'm playing with the Wifi this few days. Using 5ghz channel I will get 420mb speed. This if i sit in front of the router.

However, if i move to my room I will only get 120mb. Seen in youtube that mostly is advising mesh wifi to get full speed. Will this help me in term of speed?

Using the 2.4ghz max speed is only 122mb even in front of the router. Is this the max speed for 2.4?

My house is not so big, just 780 square feet. Current router is EC230. And the router location is middle of the house.
*
Hello, your house is only 780 sqft?

Getting Mesh Wi-Fi will improve but it is not advisable to fix in properties below 1500sqft.

I would like to recommend you to get ASUS AX3000/AX56U( If got AX Devices ) or RT-AC86U/GT-AC2900.

Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestions. May i know what is AX devices?

And why is it not advisable to use mesh. Planning to get Deco M4 and use at my house and my family house, 2 storey house.
*
AX aka Wi-Fi 6.
You may check the device specifications.

Oh, you are sharing for your house and your family house?
You're staying in Landed Property or 2 Apartments shared one line?

Thanks.

No, my family is living on 2 storey house and using unifi 300mb. My room on the 2nd floor only get max 30mb speed.
Thats why plan to use mesh.

For the suggested device, I will see great improvement over the default router? For Time at my house.
*
Oh, I understood already.

You can use Deco M4 for your Unifi 300Mbps.
For your own house, suggested to use Deco M5. Deco M4 is unable support 500Mbps.
Deco M4 is only suitable for bandwidth up to 300Mbps only.

For your own house, a single router is able to do the job.
You can use Mesh for your TIME 500Mbps but get the 2 pack type if you have thick walls in your house.
3 pack type will be overkilled for your own house.
For your family house. Get 2 or 3 pack type depending on your house coverage.

Thanks.

In terms of coverage would Tenda be better that the default EC230. Looking at the following model.

Tenda AC10U Gigabit AC1200

I live in a condo and barely get any coverage in the master room
*
Hello, if will be more or less same with the EC230.

I suggest you to get TP-Link C80 or AX10.

Thanks.

Hi, am wondering usually how long would it take for the full procedure (Registration + installation). My current location is at Cyberjaya at the moment if it helps

Also, lets say I would move out of the current installation location while still on contract, would there be extra charges needed for technician to come and help with moving process? For router/cables/etc
*
Thanks for the interest on TIME Fibre.
It takes about 5-7 or 7-14 days.

If you move out to another building will be charged a fee of RM120
May I know what's your building name?

Thanks.
