Am currently living in Shaftsbury Suites at the moment. Thanks for the prompt answers

Hello, is your building known as Shaftsbury Residence?
If yes, then it is covered.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I'm currently on the 500Mbps plan on Time with fibre cable pulled in right to the router.

Wifi speeds just around 200-250Mbps usually. Tested on my Pixel phone as well as Surface tablet with fairly similar results.

I know testing should be used on LAN but I'm basing on my own real-world needs and wondering how to bump up my wifi speeds closer to 500Mbps. Any advice? Should I upgrade the router?

Router: TP-Link Archer C1200

Thanks in advance

I would like to recommend you to upgrade your router.
What's your house size in sqft and your budget?

Thanks.

1250sq ft. condo. With this size perhaps something within RM500 but am open for suggested routers and/or mesh?

Hello, do you have Wireless AX Devices with you?

Thanks.

Hello, you may get the TP-Link Archer AX50 during 7.7 sales for RM299 via OOKAS Plus. As you don't have Wireless AX now. You may get that router for future proof.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. Got the TP-Link C80 and works like a charm now with much better coverage overall.

Just thinking if I can use my old EC230 as a secondary access point placed in master room. Is that doable ?

You're welcome bro. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Is your Master Room able to get the speed? Coverage better than the stock router from TIME?
Able to cover your whole house?
Would like to know more on this router. Is it good?

You can check whether EC230 supports wireless repeater.
I can't check so I didn't have this router.

Thanks.

Hi Bro. Here's my response.

Is your Master Room able to get the speed? Coverage better than the stock router from TIME?

DL speed with stock TIME router was 40Mbps now it is ranging between 130-150Mbps. Guess my laptop wifi card too isn't that strong because in living room I don't see a significant change. It was about 250-300 and now ranges from 250-350 max.

Able to cover your whole house?

Yeap whole house has better coverage. Previously even kitchen area doesn't have good coverage

Would like to know more on this router. Is it good?

Yea. It is 2 days old anyway but I find it to be really worth for the money. No coverage issues anymore and didn't notice any sudden disconnects so far.
*
Thanks bro for the review.
Lots of improvements bro.

Glad my recommendation helps.

Thanks.

Planning to flash Custom Firmware etc
Openwrt, DD Wrt

Because saw on the net TP link Archer 60
is that the same product ??
Question Does it support to flash the custom firmware.
TQ
*
Hello, TIME EC230 is TIME own router with own TIME Firmware.
Once you flash to another firmware besides TIME Firmware.
Warranty will be void if anything happens when the router is unable to use.
Flash at your own risk. Thanks.

Hi,

I am an existing TIME user, my contract is already finished. I will move house to another place that also has TIME coverage, and I would like to continue using TIME.

Would it be better for me to opt for relocation service (and get charged for the fee) or cancel my current service and sign a new plan? My current plan is the Rm199 500mbps plan and even if I resign I will continue with this plan.

Thanks
*
Hello, last time when you sign up TIME with 1Gbps. The monthly price is RM199 per month right?
EDIT: We have promo for 1Gbps now. Refer to your PM for more information.

Thanks.

Hi, is Time good for online gaming? Anyone regularly play multiplayer games or playstation network can share your experience, how is the ping/latency?
*
Yes, TIME is good for gaming, streaming and downloading.
I didn't play much games as I can't comment on this.
Never regret when using TIME. It is stable, faster and better than TM and Maxis.

Thanks.

You can also look at powerline solution as well. It works good (just make sure your place running on single phase electric).

I think Mesh System is better than Powerline? sweat.gif sweat.gif

QUOTE(skty @ Jul 18 2020, 06:25 PM)
hi guys, I want to pass down my current TP-Link Archer C1200 router to my parent.

I am using the router now with TIME 500mbps package and I want to downgrade and sign two years contract with TIME to get new router TP-Link EC230.

Want to ask, since my parent is using streamyx 4mbps (due to the area don't support Unifi yet), is my current TP-Link Archer C1200 router (firmware 1.0.0 build 20180502 rel. 45702 (EU)) compatible with streamyx?

Many many thanks.
*
Hello, did you check in selfcare whether are you eligible for the free router when you downgrade.

TIME Archer C1200 doesn't support Streamyx as Streamyx use RJ11 instead of RJ45.

Thanks.

Thanks for the interest on TIME Fibre.
Rain doesn't affect most of the time.
Just if some serious case will get disconnection or slowness.

Thanks.
