You are right.
At the two place, it is the lowest speed and BEST value plan. M1 do have the OLD 1Gbps but you have to pay more instead of less, but contract-free.
M1 Home Broadband $ per Month including 9% GST.
M1 1Gbps $35.86(no contract)
M1 3Gbps $32.16
M1 6Gbps $40.22
M1 10Gbps $55.48
For comparision, SIMBA 10Gbps $32.69.
There are reports about the overheating of the NIC (with heatsink) for speed above 3Gbps. Mine with 2.5Gbps is OK sofar, no DC, no heat issues and low cost NIC both USB & Desk Top PC.
I would say this 2.5Gbps hit the sweet spot but it is not being offered currently.

ya. also saw that 3Gbps is the lowest plan now. The price is even cheaper during covid time which i susbcribed to for significantly higher speed. At the two place, it is the lowest speed and BEST value plan. M1 do have the OLD 1Gbps but you have to pay more instead of less, but contract-free.

good that lion city has super high base speed broadband now. think lion city is good to subscribe the cheapest plan with 24 contracts at the cheapest price possible then after contract ends just leave it contract free.
but luckily now all ISPs in bolehland has 100Mbps plan as minimum which is it not great speed but it is decent enough for any household actually for normal usage.
and time is rather better to start at 200Mbps symmetric plan which is certainly good enough for anyone.
ultimately, using the cheapest plan is one should go for unless $$ is not an issue la haha.
