QUOTE(contestchris @ Dec 4 2025, 01:59 PM) Most people have realised they don't need 600mbps...100mbps works wonders for 95%++ of the population. Really no need. This is the reason why ISP dare to offer 10Gps plan even for consumers. Even a company with so many staff sharing the bandwidth also never have such high speed plan. They dare to offer high speed to consumers becos they m know that 99% consumers will not fully utilise the bandwidth. So technically it is just a no. Some consumers may feel good to be on high plans when they can only fully utilise the speed when they do speed test but the rest of time they cannot do much with the bandwidth. So consumers really have no pt to spend so much on internet plan which they cannot fully utilise.

QUOTE(darkam @ Dec 5 2025, 07:31 AM) Ridiculous, when we subscribe to contract is to cover for the equipment cost they give to us for free mean we own the device right? what a BS Ya lo. Ridiculous sia. the wifi routers should be free to customers especially they have completed the contract. The ONT they want to take back is fine, since to consumers it has no use to them after they terminate the plan since the device cannot be used elsewhere and cannot resell for money. But wifi routers need to return is really ridiculous. Time is getting worse and worse. No wonder time is used to be well known for higher speed better speed and stable network and relatively cheaper plans. Nowadays all these are no longer true. Even unifi has better price and comparable speed plans also.

QUOTE(ChenKaiWen @ Dec 5 2025, 10:28 AM) time doesn’t provide WiFi router now anyways, so nothing to return? I really feel like they won’t enforce it, since they don’t have a store like TM Point etc. Price is definitely not the final answer. TM has terrible routing rn, especially Cloudflare. And you’ve seen how important Cloudflare is. I would rather pay more to have a stable overall internet. Only reason I feel like TM has retention plan is because many areas are also covered by other ISPs now, so many are switching over. Back in 2019, when I transferred to Maxis, they never tried to counter offer. Maxis also seems to offer free speed upgrade and retention plan now, which wasn’t a thing before I switch to Time. they still provide free wifi routers la, as long as u have 2 years contract. unless u opt for no contract etc.

Time bb the speed is really shxxty nowadays. Direct speed test from device also can barely hit 600Mbps even at this kind of hour. This is also the reason why I dun want to waste money on higher speed plan. Really miss my experience back on unifi. This post has been edited by westlife: Dec 6 2025, 03:49 AM

QUOTE(Autocountstick @ Dec 8 2025, 09:39 AM) checked, not good deal cause something 48mths contract better use TIME transfer ownership, some offer takeover 200mbps with relocation fee + free 2mths with around 1yr contract 48 months!?!!! then i stick to my old plan. 1) DOWNGRADE to 200Mbps (rm99) - NO CONTRACT on my contract DUE DATE 14 Dec 2025. 2) After downgraded, ask for any contract renewal offer - IF NO, stick to no contract. ultimately, i am ok with rm99 price for 200Mbps with no contract.
