FTTR is difference since it is not fibre backhaul, so even they give dual band mesh wifi also ok.

If indoor the signal will get degraded and speed may not as high as this.

Also 5G may appear to have high speed but the actual latency may not be so good for online gaming etc.

It is a good alternative if one cannot use fibre broadband as a temperaily solution.

My 500mbps contract just ended and i'm thinking if i should renew it and get the rm20 monthly discount, which makes it rm119 before sst.

Hmm...i have just check with their LIVE chat support. Seems like no need to do anything on their end. For the record, last time i use my own WIFI router also didn't call them if i remember correctly. Just swap out with my own TP Link router.
I have just renewed. Will use long term, now thinking if i can switch to the get 1st month free instead of the MESH router instead...

During the Time installer setup, i requested to use my own asus router, so he just setup one of the Huawei router only.

Yes, you needed to wait for 30 days, same thing happened to mine when I submit my termination request to Unifi. It feels like half year LOL 

One thing for sure the Mesh won't be as good as those 3rd party mesh setup. Go for custom solutions if you really wanted a good wifi signal coverage

Personally i am using Asus AI Mesh with ethernet backhaul where i pull the cat6 cable from the main router to the mesh router

New one bloody expensive, so i bought used one, old WiFi 5 technology

For my case, i am using 1Gbps plan with my own asus wifi 6 router. and my phone is Samsung S22 Ultra, i can get 925Mbps download and 497Mbps upload.

As for the mesh, I can hit 530Mbps download and 209 upload

So if your line is 500M, and give your router & device are WiFi 6, should be able to achieve max speed ( and of course you need to stand in front of the router to hit max speed with wifi)

Saving is the same, both also save you RM240 for 2 years contract.
But as new account get you a free modem.

After 2 years, we expect broadband should be cheaper or faster anyhow.

Time didn't appreciate the long time user very much nowadays. I been using this TIME account since 2014.
I do feel reluctant to give away the seniority and start again as newbie, but free modem + RM240 + RM100 (for friend) is not a bad deal for the trouble.

If they already penalized you with RM500, there is no need to give 1 month notice & get charged another 1 more month.
