From what I seen reported on this thread, the current modem router combo provided by TIME does not allow changing basic things like the DNS server and there are many reports of random connectivity issues even on wired Ethernet as well.

Hi. last year got new time connection and I was provided the new HG8145V5 but some settings specially the dns cannot change. Since I work from home and sometimes got vpn/intranet issues, our IT ask me to test different dns settings they provide to troubleshoot the issue. I want the settings to be on the modem/router since I use 2 machines (1 desktop and 1 laptop) for work so I rather not change dns settings manually in windows and have them removed again when I work from another location or from the office.

I have a friend who has HG8240H that he is not using anymore (also previously used with TIME)

Questions
1. Can I borrow his onu and use it with my connection?
2. Do I need to call time to setup anything?
3. Can I set it up myself without calling time?
4. Should I just call time and setup my HG8145V5 to bridge mode and I control my network using my own router?
5. If option #4 do I need special router or normal one with option for pppoe settings will work?

Basically I want to use his modem/onu/ont and have my own separate router to handle things on my own I just need the connection to time's server. Basically my time connection I don't use the phone.. I just basically use it for internet

Another reason for changing modem and want my own router to setup my network is because they are hijacking the dns



Any information will be appreciated.

BTW, my huawei is still 2 in 1 mode, not in bridge mode.

The TIME installer just installed the HG8145X6 router.
But I noticed the DNS settings is not available, and according to DNS sites the new router is leaking my location, can I know how to change the DNS settings on the router?

Just installed Time today and the device given is Huawei HG8145V5. Wanted to use my Huawei AX3 as router so i called to CS and told them i would like to enable bridge mode in my device. The CS told me this is latest device and she is not familiar with the setting and ask me checked with the installer. Is it because i told them wrongly?

Normally they will do the bridge mode setting remotely or enable it from their side?

I told the CS "i need to enable bridge mode in the router/modem device provided by Time because i wanted to use my own router", didnt mentioned about my AX3 at all. But the CS told me she not familiar with the device setting. Do i need to mentioned the device name to them? because i thought they should know what device they provided to customer.

Plan to take the 100 mbps pkg but convince by agent to take the 500 mbps due to Mesh wifi.

Only 2 person using in my house so is it worth i to pay more and what is Mesh ?

Hi guys, quick question. I am currently using Maxis ISP with my own ASUS RT-AX55, if I change to TIME, can I still use this? AFAIK, TIME use single device for their modem+router, and not sure what is the imapct if I  daisy chaining my router to TIME device. Is there any performance decrease? Any special configuration needed?

Here's the context. I'm port forwarding for a FPS game called Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.
My NAT Type is still "Moderate" despite port forwarding the right ports.
Am I eligible to change a different modem?

Im getting ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
Tried using mobile data or VPN no issue, only with TIME then i cant access 

Tried the CMD, no changes. Still shows my Link Speed for the Cat6 at 100Mbps. Tried swapping it with a shorter Cat5e and Link Speed increased to 1Gbps. Throughout both tests, I switched off wireless on my PC so that the connection is purely wired. Does this mean that my Cat6 cable is fake? Lol didn’t know such thing could exist, it’s just Ethernet cable ffs

Just got 500mbps plan installed. The huawei modem and node are terrible…. Can anyone share with me how to setup my own tplink ax73 please tqtq

Just got Time internet installed yesterday. I seem to have the HG8145X6 modem/router installed. The wifi coverage doesn't really do well with the inner walls.

How do i use my own router? My previous setup was HG8240H5(unifi) + DIR885L.

Can i just get the PPOE credentials of my Time account and use it on the old modem?

anyone can help me on DNS things?

both dns for IPv4 and IPv6 need to be set? or set IPv4 dns enough already?
after set I click "apply" then I have to switch off the device and on it back to make it latest setting? or when I click apply, it will work with latest setting already?

I found out in steamgifts, when it load, it also refer something from these 2 site

which make it load very slow and missing icon without TIME DNS.
